I was all set to give a 5 star review for this admittedly lovely place until after 150 minutes of us staying there with no problems, having a good lunch and tasting their wines the ? owner dashed out and told us off in an uncalled for and headmistress / matron p(m)atronizing style how "your dogs need to be on the leash". Now our dogs were on the leash at the time but managed to venture away to a max of 5 meters from our table and one of them barked a little (well, he is a JR, what else would he do?) for one minute. No tables were occupied in our vicinity and only two other tables (unreachable by our dogs) were occupied at the time, it was 15:30, end of the lunchtime session.. None of the lovely waiting staff had any problems with our dogs for the 2 1/2 hours we stayed and neither did other tables. This literally happened in the last minutes of our stay and was totally uncalled for. I was planning to take a few bottles of wine home and recommend this place, but not with treatment like this. Dog owners beware.

We are travelling in the area and recognised the name on the map so decided to stop in. Absolutely wonderful cellar door in a stunning setting. Great service, delicious lunch with great gluten free options and a nice kids playground in an open grassy area. Went away very happy with a case of excellent wine.

We had lunch at Courabyra Wines as part of the "Wiradjuri Culture & Winery Bus Tour" run by Mark and his wife Michelle.
The restaurant was lovely with magnificent views.
The pink sparkling which accompanied the lunch was divine. Anne gave us a talk about the winery beginnings she is a qualified horticulturalist alma mater Burnley in Vic. There journey and coming back after the 2020 bush fires was so interesting. Highly recommend, worth a look.

I had to come away with 1/2 doz of the wonderful high altitude Shiraz. That was after the best Gourmet meal in the area. Don’t pass the Pork Ribs followed by Local Hazelnuts in a sublime mousse. My husband was more than impressed by the Gnocci and Vanilla Slice. A knockout lunch.

Fabulous restaurant with extensive views and absolutely wonderful food.
Gave my dish (pork belly) 11/10! Good wines and excellent service. Truly a hidden gem in the Snowy Valley region. Will definitely be back - all the way from Sydney.Absolutely worth a visit.

Guys, put this on your travel list. Feb 21 the Tumbarumba wine festival is coming up, Hungerford Hill, Penfolds etc, however Courabyra has the 2014 National Sparkling Award, you will be surprised. Tumbarumba offers good cafe's fine food and good coffee. There are 5 or so cellar door's to visit, and is only 30 mins off the Hume.

The winery offers a good range of white and red wines with the chardonnay and pinot noir being very typical of the region.

We enjoyed our tasting and then settled in for lunch!

On its own as a lunchtime winery experience, extremely enjoyable. Throw in the owners - Brian & Cathy - on a quieter day, and its hilarious. Well worth a side trip from wherever else you are that is nearish there. Out of the way, quiet, but relaxing, tasty food and a decent selection of good cold climate wines.
