Family tree study.

Interesting facts about the Hay Clan, and very knowledgeable guide. Very nice restaurant, full of period charm.

We went here on a glorious day. We parked in the public carpark and walked up to the house, even though, as registered disab?ed, there was parking at the house. We started in the café and then toured the house. There are 97 steps to climb, but they are broken into easily manageable climbs. In each room there is a written... More

We love the castle for coffee / lunch+ walks through the beautiful gardens and woods. Joan and her staff always make us feel so welcome. The castle kitchen is always lovely and warm with the most amazing cakes. If you have never been then please go! It's brilliant for all ages. Have the haggis, Cheddar and red onion toastie, followed... More

Okay we have read a lot of reviews for this castle and I have to say we fall down on the very positive side. We had a fantastic day visiting the castle and wandering round the rooms at our own pace and seeing lots of very interesting things. The staff were super and really made us feel at home in... More

Delgatie Castle is our choice of where to stay in the Highlands. The accommodations are quite comfortable, trout fishing on site, and centrally located for family activities and whiskey distillery visits. The Laird's Kitchen provides a tasty repast if you don't feel like cooking. The chocolate and toffee layer cakes are not to be missed!

This castle has been lived in until recently, so you see many, many decades of styles combined, truly interesting. It is beautiful, the gardens and the fishery as well. There are many lovely walking paths on the property as well.

The volunteers that run the castle are very helpful and cheery. They let us know they are in the middle of cleaning so there was some dust and some rooms were set for evening functions but this did not detract from the overall enjoyment my friend and I had. The food is different (haggis, red onion and cheese toastie which... More

Delgatie is such a beautiful castle, that deserves attention. Yes, the tearoom was good and the lovely young girl who greeted us on arrival and later served us tea was charming and first class. However, the 'visitor experience' of the castle tour itself was actually really depressing and embarrassing. All rooms desperately needed vacuuming/cleaning; were poorly presented, with odd, non-historic... More

Monday 9th May. Just home from a lovely lunch at Delgatie Castle - beautiful home made Cullen Skink and freshly made roast beef sandwiches, plus home made chocolate cake! Never fails to amaze me how these women not only make all the meals from scratch, but look after holiday accommodation and then cater for weddings and functions as well !... More
