Surprise find. You can rent bikes near the entrance to the park for a little house in the trees. The tracks are graded and we did the new black circuit which is the easiest and suitable for those who aren't up to single track technical stuff. The black track is on Forrest roads and easy gradients although there is a... More

Did it many times. Just a lovely place. Not at all crowded and well tucked away on some parts of the trail.

I had heard so much about the Harkerville Red Route, so I headed out to the Forest from Knysna to see if it would live up to it’s legendary reputation. I parked in one of the parking bays in the service road next to the N2. To get to the start of the trail you cross the N2 and head... More

A must-do trail, for those in the area. The red is the longest and hardest of the routes…but also one of the most scenic in the country. It takes you deep into indigenous forest, fynbos - with incredible coastal views along the way. The biblical rain of days before meant it was WET! About 22km in total - with around... More

Originally intednded to be a green run ride turned to be pretty much the exact opposite as the signs were extremely misleading. Throughout the bike ride you will frequently encounter signs which tell you were to go ( depending on which trail you're doing ). We were originally going along the green trial but ended up getting lost, literally. Eventually... More

A mate and I did the fantastic Green Trail last Sunday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful trail through the forest, amazing viewpoint of the coastline, and a great single track to end off with! Definitely be back!

Info worth knowing: - The trails are R 40 for a day permit, you pay at Garden of Eden desk. - Wildcards dont cover the cycling (they are only for walking etc) - There are four different levels of trail, all of which start and end in the same place. Yellow is probably the easiest. It contains no single track... More

The day permit cost of R 40 is money exceptionally well spent. If you arrive too early at Garden of Eden stop on N2, fill in the honesty permit in box and pay later once you finish your ride. You can also park on the opposite side of the N2, but it is safer on the N2 itself at Garden... More

We've cycled all the Harkerville trails many times and have never been disappointed. Bear in mind this is not for the casual cyclist. You have to have a reasonable fitness level and be comfortable on a bike for hours at a time. Take with ample hydration and a snack to keep up your energy. Most breathtaking views once you make... What a lovely morning out in nature. There were 4 trail to choose from, besides the 1st one, they do require fitness and some skill. Good fun and workout was had. Lovely views! Tipped the nature conservation guy as he was super friendly, helpful and looked after our vehicle.
