Casares is one of the many "white towns" scattered around the Costa del Sol. It is one of the smaller ones but worth a visit for at least a morning or afternoon. The houses are all white and built into the side of the rocks....More

Take the same path up from the square as for the community hall and you will find the castle next to the converted church. Excellent views from the walls down and over Casares. Recommended. Allow an hour plus.

The village of Casares is a must see if you happen to be in the Manilva / Casares municipality’s. Perhaps a 15 minute drive up into the hills will bring you to this lovely white washed village with wonderful views back down the coast. You...More

It is certainly a short but very steep climb up from the centre of the village but it is worth while making the effort. The castle is only a ruin but the views are excellent. There were plenty of birds of prey soaring both above...More

Great trip into history and the views are simply stunning. Gift shop has some lovely local crafts at bargain prices too. Harsh climb to get there - wear suitable shoes!
