The most important building of Conversano
Jul. 2018 • Friends
Historical place of catholic church in the old part of Conversano with beautiful Interieur, old painting of Maria with the child and old fresco. Very good location for wedding. Restaurants and coffee's next to the church.

Simple but magnificent

We were staying near the Cathedral in the Corte Altavilla. We wandered in to it a few times and attended Sunday Mass there. Inside it is simple but really magnificent. A classically elegant building. Mass was a lovely cpmmunity celebration

Romanesque style cathedral
Sep. 2017 • Couples
We made Conversano our base for our tour of Puglia and stayed at a B&B a 5 minute walk from the cathedral. The cathedral is very simple, built in the Romanesque style, typically with massive thick walls and round arches and very few windows making the interior devoid of natural light.

Truly peaceful

A visit to this building will bring beauty to your eyes and your soul. I went inside to light a candle in rememberance for my granddaughter and I was not disappointed by the peace I found within.

Nice cathedral
Jan. 2016
Taken as a whole, a walk around the old city is a nice way to spend a morning or evening. The cathedral is a nice example of typical architecture of the region. It is sparsely decorated, but has some paintings from near its origin and later.

Simply divine
Jul. 2015
I found my way into this Cathedral by chance. As I sat having my morning coffee I overlooked the side wall of this quite plain building but when I wandered away from the main square and I found the main entrance and enjoyed the serenity of this understated building. For me its most sit-in feature was the circular rose satin glass above the main portal. In the summer heat of Conversano, this was a quiet and cool refuge.

Cathedral of Conversano, Italy - lovely sight.
May 2015
This cathedral was opposite where we stayed in Conversano. It was quite plain within, but all the same great.

We called to visit it but a service was on. However the lady on the door insisted we enter which we did. The tunes seemed to be recorded but the songs were from the churchgoers. A great sight.

The cathedral is in the main square.
