Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The view from the walls is curious. All the lower houses only the Cathedral with the bell tower stands majestically.
There was a previous church of the same age as the walls, but in 1700, being in poor conservation conditions, it was demolished and rebuilt in Neoclassical style.

Neo-classical marble-fronted church in the main square of Cittadella, where the north-south and east-west streets from the four city gates meet.

This cathedral is in the center of the walled city of Cittadella. From its walls, view over Cathedral is impressive.

We visited The town of Cittadella by train from Treviso, it is only a short distance away. Cittadella is a fortified medieval town of the thirteenth century and served as an outpost for Padua. The Duomo is right at the entrance of the town. Unfortunately when we entered there was a service going on so we could not see it in detail ,but liked what we saw, when we returned later on in the afternoon it was closed at the time as we had walked all around the town. The walkaway around the city is about two kilometres, and i believe it is unique in Europe for sure as it is fully restored and in a pristine condition. You can walk around the town from 15 metres high and see all what lies beneath you inside the city. It was truly a memorable walk and most enjoyable as the city is laid out before your very eyes. It was truly different from most walled cities which I have seen in different parts of Europe

Duomo di Chittadella is the main Roman Catholic church in the centre of the town of Cittadella. There is a Museum of Religious Art in the bell-tower. The bell-tower houses a museum of precious sacred objects.
But don't forget to make a tour of the ramparts and to walk around on the high town wall. Cittadella is an interesting place to spend a couple of hours. You can feel the history in its walls.

The front of this cathedral is quite handsome. It is a later front that had been added on to modernise an old Romanesque church. The inside of the cathedral offers little of interest with some fairly uninspiring altar pieces. The chapel to the side of the cathedral that can be reached through the cathedral or through its own door is the real treat. It has a domed ceiling covered in frescoed angels. Not to be missed.

I had seen some photos on the internet that had intrigued me. The visit was quite disappointing as the interior is practically bare.
