I visited this place with family from Jember. It spend around 1 hour by car. Before entering the beach area, there was a view point on the curb where we can see the cape from high.
There was entrance fee to enter this place. And near the entrance there was a view point Goa Lowo & Goa Jepang where we could see the cape from there and it was a good spot for taking picture. Then we continue to the beach and we took lunch first. There were many food stalls and mostly the menu was sea food. This place also famous with its edamame. Must try. Very fresh.
The beach was beautiful with some rocks formation. There was another view point near the beach where we could see the whole beach and rocks.

Wonderful beach. People just didnt know if it exists so it's less commercial (which is good).
But definitely worth your visit. Love the sunset

Papuma is always the high point of my trips to Jember. I'm not really a beach person, but this is one of the most beautiful beaches i have ever visited. There's a soft curving sandy tree-lined shore surrounded with marvellous rocky outcrops and islets out to sea. And what is best about it is the fact that it's completely undeveloped; no big resorts, cruise ships or tour groups. The final section of the road here from Jember is uneven and bumpy, and it's only on public holidays that there are lots of people here. Most of the time you have plenty of space to yourself - just a few families and couples dotted about. There are generally a number of fishing boats that can be hired to go out to one or other of the islands, but be careful because the winds can whip up suddenly with quite rough seas. There are food stalls with excellent seafood. It's a perfect place for a relaxing day.

I visiter this beach during Eid Al Fitr holiday and it was a bad experience. So many people were there that I couldn't join the scenery, moreover to play on the beach. It was so hectic, especially because the path along the beach is also used by people living nearby to get back and forth. The access was not easy either. I got stuck on traffic jam on my way there, and also on my way back home. The beach itself is quite beautiful, indeed, but it was also very hot and it was a bit dirty. I found used diaper and a cup of instant noodle . Better you visit this beach not during any long holiday. If you a seafood addict, you can enjoy grilled fish served by stalls around it.

I'm living nearby (in about 15km) from this beach, i just realized that this tourist destination changing so much especially in 2018
During holiday season, the entrance ticket became quiet expensive at IDR 20K/person + vehicle entrance IDR 5K, then u have to pay more for parking IDR 10K, again u have to pay an extra money to take Photo on "Siti Hinggil" just because it's renovated, the beach was dirty and the management not even clean it

This is the beach with beautiful view, white sands, clean and quiet place. But this place is not known yet but foreigner tourist. Maybe because of lack announcement. Along the way to this beach we can see beautiful scenery of tobacco and corn fields and hill and suddenly the view of sea and colorfull ships coming.
Although this is beach and shine but the wind blows are cold because of it place at the Sea South.
We can also meet a lot of Monkeys but they are very nice and didn't bother.
this place will be better if the government increase the facility like better toilets, and any other facility.

It's a secluded beach which is not very well known to foreign tourists. However, the views from the peak of this area is simply stunning. It somehow looks like the Twelve Apostles in Great Ocean Road Australia. Unfortunately, there is very limited place to eat and the nearest hotel is worn out with a lot of mosquitoes. I would only recommend you to visit this place if you have extra time.

I'm coming with my guest on this place and first plan is to take a shoot of sunrise and sunset. So, we arrived around 04:00 PM and wait for the sunset. Yup, we did it, and we have good weather. When the night come, we starting to go back to hotel, but my guest still wanna stay to take picture of full moon. And beside that, we can see milky way clearly! So we still stay on that place until 08:00 PM, and take a shoot of clearly milky way! Based on my experience, you can take a beautiful shoot of sunrise and sunset on this place, if you get the good weather. Best time to come, sunset 0400 PM, sunrise 04:00 AM. If you wanna see milky way, stay there around 06:30 PM until 07:30 PM. But, don't forget using a jacket, and don't ever try to walk on the rock which located on outside the beach. Some people say's lot of sea snake there, but i think it's only a warning to you because the wave quite big. Happy traveling and enjoy!

Visited Tanjung Papuma for sunrise shoot. Photographed the picturesque coast of southern East Java with its rock formations, berthing local fishing boats during sunrise. Amazing view and lovely sun rise by the beach. Only trouble before this was the car ride from Surabaya airport that lasted for a painful 4-5 hours and left me not well rested at all. Ran on the adrenaline given by the fantastic views of the rock formations. Got to see some locals fishing and playing by the beach as the holiday season just began.

Lots of litter all over the floor and had no one selling drinks or anything. Possibly due to the fact that I was there for the sunrise which is at 5am. Little to no facilities.

The beach has two color of sand. Black and white. separated by a hill and pennisula. the coral cluster in the coast is the best photo spot. Sunset is the best time to add the exotic value.

You could try the food stall. the baked fresh fish (with ketchup sambal) and a hot riceplus fresh coconut is the great dine experience

But... since there is no hotel/ losmen in the near you have to take time traveling to commute for about and hour and half.
