Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unfortunately our plans to walk from Hallett Cove Conservation Park to Marion, coffee and back were dashed due to closure of the coastline path, we weren't prepared for the re-routed course along the neighbouring streets. Hopefully the path has reopened by now. Walking a small way along eight kilometre Marion Coastal Walking Trail was pure escape back to nature, spectacular landscape and coastline views with very few people. Good weather protection is required, no shade, full exposure to the elements, bring water. I'm sure this would be a five star hike once the path is fully open.

The coastal trail is a really well done 11 kilometer walk along some spectacular cliff tops south of Adelaide.
Best approached from the car park in the Hallet Cove beach area it has some wonderful sign posted information spots along the path, designed to educate the walker about the history and fauna of the area it's a really lovely way to fill in a couple of hours and get some serious leg exercises happening.
Along the path there are numerous diversionary paths leading down to the rocky coastal beach below the cliffs for the adventurous among us.
The path is probably not for anybody with mobility problems, there's lots of steps involved.

The walk has great coastal views, with a number of interpretive signs to explain unique geology and wildlife. Start of walk can be accessed from Hallett Cove railway station.

This walk from Brighton jetty to Hallett Cove, including the geologically important Hallett Cove conservation park offers year round beauty while exercising. I recommend it for all my visitors but am careful to make sure they know which sections suit their health & fitness & can be as short or as long as you want if you use the trains which run nearby. Teenagers, young adults, athletes in training & all nature walkers love this special place. The scenery is stunning in every scenery & there are points of access to the variety of beaches along this coast. Most of this walking trail is unsuitable for cyclists due to several sets of steep stairs through deep gorges but their is a cycle trail near the train track. And as if the sea, cliffs & views along the Adelaide coastline aren't enough - for an addition to this walk head up into the nearby Marino Conservation Park..

Our grandson committed to raising some money by a gentleman who inspired him to do so and to help him build schools in Africa. So it was decided to do a walk from Hallett Cove to Brighton Jetty. after weeks of awful weather, the day looked perfect to tackle it.
We set off at around 8 am expecting to take about 2 hours, 13,000 steps, equal;went to 19 storeys and 6.8 Kms later in exactly 120 minutes, we got there.
It's not for those with disabilities, bad hearts or knees. But what beautiful scenery over more than 180 degrees through the whole walk.
All in all a great morning, and we are proud of our grandson who raised over AU$400 for the cause.

If you can't do the full walk I highly recommend just the Hallett Cove Conservation park segment. The landscape is unique to this area - millions of years old sandstone cliffs continually being eroded along the coast. The hiking around here is all moderate and the boardwalk quite easy although there are some steep sections, especially the Jacob's ladder down to the beach!
There is a nice cafe open Wednesday to Sunday and playground for the kids.

This is a great seaside walk that gives you a decent workout too as there quite a lot if stairs. Impressed by the length of the boardwalk. We parked and took the train from Marion to Hallett Cove Beach and walked back. Around 6km and took us 1 hr 15 mins. Highly recommended.

The walk along the clifftops along Marino rocks offers something for everyone. Good scenery, a brisk walk, stairs, seats, views. There are also some information signs which make a start on educating about the natural surroundings. The trail can be a good workout if you want to push yourself. You can start either end or along the way at several points. There are seats along the way which offer a nice way to take in the views and which often have memorial plaques to a loved one. These have been generously donated by families. There are also coffee options nearby and along the way. A walk from Brighton or Seacliff towards Marino can be rewarded with this extra scenery along the clifftops and hills.

Don’t let my title put anyone off, it is definitely worth the effort. It is quite a strenuous walk however even in my after Christmas over indulgence period I made it. Great exercise with the benefit of great gulf views. We went from north to south so we could grab a coffee before the return walk. Do it, you won’t regret it

Parking off the road is provided. On with comfortable walking shoes and take your time to enjoy the view as you walk along part of the coastline of some of the best beaches in the nation. The walking tracks are well cared for and easygoing.

We are at Marion Rocks and plan to do the walk tomorrow morning. Would you please advise which part/s of the trail are closed? Thanks Ange
