Pros:
- the fireplace
- the grounds/gardens
- friendly service

Cons:
- without exaggeration, possibly the worst meal we have had out.
- gnocchi was inedible in the most rancid sauce
- 1/2 chook was pink inside (sent back to the kitchen to be re-fried)
- corn undercooked
- pork was not loved by many at the table
- $16 mesculin mix salad was as soggy as anything

We actually left laughing at how a place could get things so terribly wrong. I absolutely hate being so negative about a local Adelaide hills winery, but that was just the worst. I’m sorry Cobbs Hill… you should be ashamed at what you’re serving.
This place has just so much potential. I wish the owners and management would take some time to review what is being served. We’d gladly re-visit upon word of a complete overhaul.

Very nice gardens and outdoor spaces but the service is terrible, the wine is average and the pizza bland. Definetly not worth the effort to travel all that way and very overpriced.

We have been associated with Cobbs Hill winery since it's very early days and became wine club members. At this point in time we were very impressed with the friendly staff and service we received. The food was excellent and value for money.
We haven't visited for some time but decided on the spur of the moment to go for lunch today Wednesday March 27th.
When we arrived we were advised that Pizzas are only available from Thursday onward and not Wednesday as stated on the website.
We were really after a combination food platter of meat and cheeses which we have had previously but were told this was not an option now so we went with the meat platter.
When the platter came out we were very disappointed with what we got and at $50 thought that this was grossly over charged.
We had to ask for plates and serviettes and apart from when the platter was served the staff were very noticeable by their absence.
With the expansion of the facility the service and value have been depleted. Such a shame to a once great venue.

Lovely location with a beautiful picnic hamper supplied by the estate. Only downside were the wineries dogs which harassed our dog and kept trying to pinch our food.

We did eat at the newly opened Cobbs hill restaurant and the food was delicious and the staff lovely. I do have some feedback however. On a mild spring day of 23degrees in Adelaide we arrived at our destination and on entering the restaurant t felt very cool. Nearly all the cafe windows were open. It was extremely fresh. I noticed the table next to us were wrapped in pashminas and were wearing jackets. I think this was disappointing as we were really looking forward to our lunch and presumed it was indoors otherwise we would have sat outside! Also we ordered a favourite bottle of red wine and as a Cobbs Hill member our friend estimated the cost from cellar door was around $46! In the restaurant it ballooned to nearly $100. Now that is outrageous. We asked could we buy from cellar door and pay corkage but we were declined. Why would they sell their wines at restaurant prices? Other wineries with restaurant facilities do not do this! Very disappointing

Great location beautiful setting warm reception on arrival and then downhill from there. Order for pizzas took over an hour to arrive after chasing them up. Pizzas were cold brought out in a disorderly fashion by inexperienced staff. Got the order wrong to boot also. Quality of pizza was abysmal soggy and scant of ingredients. We have been to this venue twice before and it seems the more popular it gets the quality of food is on the slide and clearly lack enough experienced staff. That said will not be returning nor recommending anymore.

Winter reds festival was a paid, ticketed event. I was surprised therefore that we ended up sitting in an unfinished room that was clearly in the process of being renovated, with only portaloos for the facilities. I don't think the venue was expecting rainy weather but it's winter - the whole thing seemed a bit disorganised.

We visited the winery with John Angel of Best Wine Tours. Without john's knowledge we would never have found this beautiful winery. We enjoyed wine tasting while eating a delicious lunch. The food and wine were delightful and this winery was definitely a highlight of our tour. The garden was so green and welcoming. Our order of wine arrived at a convenient time for us.

Have been to Cobb's Hill on numerous occasions , we have always had a great experience, the hosts are very accommodating and spend the time to come and talk with us. Their wine is lovely and the sav blanc gin is divine, I am not a gin drinker but on a hot day really enjoy this. The grounds are picturesque and the food although simple at this stage, is very tasty...I would recommend a visit for anyone wanting a relaxing afternoon
