Playa Ovahe is located just over a mile from Anakena beach in a southeastern direction. This small beach is surrounded by cliffs of reddish volcanic origin. Its waters are of turquoise color and its fine sand is of pink color product of the mixture of the red volcanic slag and the eroded white coral. Certainly worth considering while visiting Anakena beach.

I only could find to sand beaches in the island, this is one of them. Is not hide but is not a common place. In the short pad from the parking lot to the beach there is a ancient burial land, please be respectful

Playa Ovahe is easy to get to once you are on Rapa Nui. It is located very close to Anakena Beach and everyone goes there. After you park your car, just follow the trail to the left. Before you get to the beach itself, take time to look at the ancient funeral site! This is where they would they would burn the dobles of diseased loved ones. Sacred ground! Keep following the path to the left and arrive onto the beach. The colors of the rocks here are just beautiful. Take a swim in the crystal clear water. Enjoy this beautiful spot!

Ovahe was recommended for snorkeling by my tour guide. It was decent, however, (even according to my guide) it was no comparison to French Polynesia. FYI, nearest toilet is Anakena Beach (2km), no lifeguard, water is colder than Hawaii and Tahiti, and there is a danger of rocks falling. Still I'd do it again. Take your own water/food

A truly picturesque little beach next to Anakena beach, difficult to access but all your efforts will be very much rewarded. Don't miss it when at Rapa Nui.

Getting there requires going through a path not suitable for seniors but it’s worth the effort . This is the local answer to Anakena , which is much more touristic . Some 100 meters from the beach there is a coral reef good for snorkeling

This is one of the two sand beaches on Easter Island and it's harder to get to and not very swimmable, but it is peaceful and serene. The biggest issue is the parking lot and approach to it, littered with enormous potholes, this may not be where you want to drive your vehicle! But it was a nice short walk in and was completely deserted after the Tongariki sunrise.

Harder to get to but so worth it, after you follow the trail down from the parking lot go left climb some rocks and and there you will see this pristine perfect cove!
A great spot there is a steep trail on the other end for some great views.
A must stop, do not miss this!!

This is a small beach with big waves. It is off the beaten path. The dirt road has big ruts. It is not safe to swim here.

Abrazo y cualquier otra duda no dudas preguntar. José

Hola. Cualquier otra duda, pues vuelve a preguntar.
