If you visit North Spain and love animals this park is a must-see! It's necessary to have a car , because the park is huge. There are many places to park and see the wild animals. The nature is amazing and the animals are in their natural environment,as much as it is possible. There are two spectacles, one with sea-lions... More

Hello: If you come to Spain, Cantabria is a beautiful region where you can visit a lot of of lovely places: Picos de Europa, Santillana del Mar, Altamira Caves, etc. But there is a singular place to visit: The Nature Park of Cabárceno. In this Park you can see different animals in an habit very similar to the real conditions... More

I would say it is a must in that area if you are going with children, but it is not only for children. It is a nice park with lots of animals, where you can see them almost like in freedom. It is not a conventional zoo. Most of animals have huge area to move. Despite food is not expensive,... More

We were initially concerned about the 30 Euros for adults (17 Euros for children) admission, but it was definitely worth it. Cabarceno is a huge plot of land that served as an Roman iron mine. It has been converted to an animal preserve crisscrossed by a network of cable cars. You get to see the animals (lions, tigers, bears, elephants,... More

Cabarceno is not a Zoo as one might expect first hand. This is a a park where the animals experience freedom in an enclosed space. The stetting has breathtaking views, and one enjoys the experience of contemplating the wild life almost like it's own habitat. What I like about it is the fact that the animals are cared for and... The park is great. The enclosures are generally excellent and some are incredible. In august the queues are far too much, nobody's fault, but it makes the failure to see anything in certain enclosures more irritating. Bird show is fantastic. The real downer is the behaviour of the visitors. Tapping on an occasional window or clapping hands at the animals... More

Spent about six hours here experiencing the beautiful park and wonderful animals roaming around. Totally disgusted to end our circuit at sea lion show with animals jumping through hoops doing tricks etc to a huge crowd. This did not fit at all with our overall experience of animals roaming around this spectacular and vast reserve.

August afternoon visit. The place is good, the animals have plently of space to wonder around and they look happy. As bad points: there were too many people and traffic jams were frequent. Poor pedestrians conditions and the kids were constantly tripping out. Much of the walking is done on the road. Road signs could be improved. Expensive. Not enough... More

We (me, my wife and two kids ages 11 and 9) almost didn't go to Cabarceno because I thought it was just another zoo but one that you had to drive through. I am so glad that we did though. We all loved it. It is massive. The enclosures were huge yet, because of the way it was set up... More
