Trekking through the remote and wonderfully varied landscape of the Flinders Ranges with camels is an unforgettable experience. Karen and Paul have an intimate knowledge of the personalities of each camel, and all are treated with individual loving care.Meals are fresh and healthy and more than adequate, with a plentiful selection of fresh fruit. Evenings are spent relaxing around a camp fire, and star gazing before settling into comfortable swags. Health and safety requirements are complied with in every area of the treks. Support crew, Ed & Sophie are always friendly & cheerful, & are ready to help in any situation. Trekking with camels - be it riding or walking - ensures a slower pace of life, and the peace and beauty of the surroundings contribute to restoring the soul & the balance of life. Thank you Karen & Paul, for sharing your passion & understanding of camels with others, & for teaching me so much over the past 6 years. Hoping to be with such a wonderful couple & with the camels for a few more years yet.

Review by Indi M 26 July 2021 My experiences with Camel Treks Australia over the last five years are excellent. It is my hope to do more desert camel treks. I feel most safe riding the camels. A joyful experience shared with good friends and with, I believe, minimal risk! Karen and Paul and the well trained cameleers have sound knowledge of the desert, weather, communications, first aid and medical contacts in emergency, experience, or otherwise, of camel riders and walkers and of the camels. There is excellent safety, care and well being for people. Provided are safe, comfortable swags, COVID safety guidance, good hygiene and plenty of great food. Outstanding!

The camel trek was all memorable in the most positive way. The whole trip was further enhanced by the expertise and enthusiasm of the trail boss, Karen and the camp boss Paul. In a fast modern world this camel trek allowed you to slow down and enjoy the splendour of the landscape and the company of your fellow trekkers.

Our camel trek with Karen and her crew was far better than I imagined. Karen and Paul went out of their way to accommodate our needs. The camels were like family to the crew, they were cared for beautifully. I learnt so much about the camels , their needs, their history and their personalities ☺️ Of course the environment where we walked/rode was truly spectacular, the ranges, the sand dunes and salt lake just added to this incredible experience We were spoilt with the delicious food, no one went hungry!! Karen and Sophie baked fabulous cakes and pudding over hot coals…. Such talent!! I would recommend this trip in the flinders ranges to anyone who wants an experience to remember. I’d love to take my grandchildren next time

The was no favourite part - it is all fantastic. For me it is the best chill out, technology free experience available. The silence and the stars at night are brilliant!
