Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A solid walk and even a steady walk to the picnic area, we were glad we had not decided to have a picnic as the noise pollution from the nearby hotel, destroyed the serenity of the park. Their live music hear in the park was garbled words and the base, driving birds and animals away. It could be still heard past the first waterfall. We reached the steps down to the main waterfall the returned to our vehicle.

It has been about 45 years since I last visited these falls and I obviously was young and fit then. We walked all the way down until the last few hundred stairs and I couldnt go any further with my bad ankles. My husband walked all the way to the bottom and the lookout. The views were amazing but falls were a tad disappointing as not a lot of water running and we expected them to be larger.
But walking through the rainforest was very enjoyable and I’m glad to did it. It was a bit of a shock when I found a tick the next morning though- so be careful of ticks & leeches.

Nice forest with good walking tracks. Managed to spot a koala which was a bonus. There obviously hasn’t been decent rain here for a long time and therefore the waterfall into the rock pool wasn’t flowing at all which was a pity. There were other areas which also obviously normally held water but were dried up. I can imagine after rainfall it would be a magical place to visit but sadly it wasn’t for us.

We took a walk to the falls after a delicious lunch at Kondalilla Eco Resort Restaurant! it was an easy stroll on well maintained tracks down with quite a few stairs. Its a bit harder work on the way back and even late on a winter afternoon it was a warm trek back up to the carpark. The falls are very beautiful so worth it!

The rock pools are beautiful, totally worth the walk. Please don’t take prams, we there are lots of steps, many people did this and it caused a lot of problems.
The picnic area is nice and open, perfect for families that may not be able to do the walk.

Did the 4.5km circuit walk which was well marked. great views of the falls and valley. Can swim if you want but very cold. Get here early if you want a park though. Great picnic area too.

This was the highlight of our Sunshine Coast holiday! Lovely walk (lots of stairs but fine if you are fit and healthy). The rock pool was incredible! We were fortunate the waterfall was flowing and the water was lovely for a swim. The scenery can’t be captured by photo, you must lie in the rock pool and take it in! We even had a goanna grace us with their presence to top the day off. I didn’t want to leave and will absolutely go again next time we are in Australia.

There were some expected steps but the walk to the pools/falls wasn't too difficult and the track was well maintained. The return trek was a little more 'taxing' but again it was not hard. Walking through the beautiful forest, seeing the Falls, hearing all of the wildlife and breathing the fresh (albiet a little chilly) air made the visit here great.

Approx how far is it from the car park to the falls? Would like to take our kids (aged 8 and 5) for a picnic and a swim. We won’t do the entire walk but would like to visit the falls. How far or difficult is the walk to the pools? Thank you

Hi there, Its a reasonable walk and relatively easy to get there to the falls, the rock pool is amazing and a great place for a swim. The path is well maintained with plenty of well made steps to take you to the bottom. Getting back up just takes a bit more effort but still well worth it.

My sister has a disability and can't walk too far. Is the walk to the falls fairly manageable if done with a walking stick?

Go to Mary Cairnccross Scenic reserve instead. Excellent visitors centre, mainly flat short walking trail and lovely scenic views.

Can you hike part of the trail to the falls & turn back or is the trail one way?
