Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The escape rooms here came highly regarded, but as decently experienced escape room artists, we did not find it to be a good time at all.
While the staff were all friendly, the introduction to the escape rooms was a clip art video that went over the basic rules of the rooms (including the note that nothing would require climbing).
We entered the room, which had a few puzzles we quickly sorted. It looked a bit like an old cabin. Eventually, one of the puzzles opened a door and we moved into a room that had, basically, a large treasure chest with four blinking coloured lights and some strange items hanging on the wall behind it.
We required assistance to figure out what to do here, as it involved some convoluted solutions, and we were also supposed to realise we were enacting an actual jewel heist, which was not clearly conveyed. The next room we were supposed to be stealing a diamond, which was a confusing segue from the previous 'cabin'.
The puzzles did not seem overly connected, and there was a lot of fiddling to get things sorted in the rooms. At the very end we needed an item that was above my ability to see (on a top shelf of bookshelves - I am 5'3") so it would have required climbing if I were the only person doing the room. We eventually needed a hint to look up that high, especially since the video at the into specifically said things would not be outside of reach.
Overall, our team was incredibly disappointed in the Jewel Heist. It felt disjointed, unclear, and frustrating rather than challenging, creative, and fun. I cannot recommend this escape room, though we did do a couple of great ones elsewhere in Adelaide that were worth the money and beyond.
If this were my first experience with an escape room, I would never try another one. I've done over 20 escape rooms, so it's not my first rodeo. Give this one a miss.

Exactly as the advertisement says, No Keys, No Padlocks.
This small collection of Escape Rooms is well thought out, challenging, clean and well presented. Suitable for all ages. Staff are friendly and assist when needed. And the kids love the selfie room with props afterwards.
Only thing I would recommend of Escaplex is to set some solving order, or at least provide a starting position.
One of the better Escape Room companies we have been to.

This was a great experience for our group of 4. It was challenging and we were absolutely delighted to solve the puzzle and get out with 3 minutes to spare. Just loved it and will be back.

Came with a group aged 10 to 50, where we split up and tried 3 rooms initially. all different but overwhelmingly enjoyable and challenging rooms. Just when you think you are almost there, there is more to solve. Time does fly but it's a great feeling to work things out and if you do well you can try another room to fill in your hour. Two thumbs up from the youngest and oldest member of our group.

Had a fantastic time “escaping” from our experience.
The staff were friendly and made us feel special.
Loved the opportunity to work as a team and get the answers we needed to get to the end.
Managed to complete our chosen room in 45 mins so they placed us into another room which we also managed to complete.
Was a great way to celebrate our sons 21st and work together.
Great family fun!!!

This was our second time at Escaplex; we started in a room we got halfway through last time. Once again we were impressed by the variety of puzzles and decor of the rooms.
The staff (could be the owners) were lovely and so enthusiastic about the whole experience, which was a little different from the younger staff we had the last time we were here.
We still think the rooms/lanyard need to have some kind of timer to indicate how much times left, and the recordings in the beginning of each room are a little hard to understand since they’re computer generated.
We got through two rooms and started a third, we’ll definitely be back to finish the rest!

A great team experience. Took kids -and just pointed them in the right direction from time-to-time. Really good. Really memorable. Different way to have a fun mind-warping afternoon together.
