I have happy memories of visiting the Bembridge Lifeboat station in the late 60's and being in awe at the Jesse Lumb lifeboat at the time. Jesse Lumb is now at Duxford museum near Cambridge, but apparently she's coming back to the Isle of Wight soon to go on display somewhere. The modern version of both the boathouse and the... More

We joined a guided tour of the lifeboat station. We had a most interesting guide he is so knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions we asked him. There are lots of photographs to look at. And so many stories to let an about. A very worthwhile visit.

Well worth a visit to this interesting RNLI station located at the end of a walkway across the waves! Rebuilt in 2009, the station now has an interesting display of the history of the lifeboat at this location as well as notable persons associated with it as well as some of the history of the RNLI. You can also view... More

Just a short stroll from the Warner Leisure hotel where we were staying. We were shown around the station and given a very interesting talk by Patch who was happy to answer the many questions we had. The visit lasted one and a half hours and there was no charge although the RNLI are happy to receive donations to enable... More

Unfortunately we arrived late and the cafe and lifeboat were shut. We did get to walk down the pier, go in the little shop and walk down to the little beach under the pier. It was a lot of fun.

We could see the Lifeboat Station from our Hotel & decided to walk along the greensward to have a look. On arrival we noticed that at this time of the year the Station was open to the public between 2-4pm each day. We returned after a leisurely lunch & were invited in to the Station by two very pleasant volunteers.... More

We passed an hour here, Interesting but not that much to see. The staff are informative and helpful. A good view of the lifeboat. Dogs are welcome although ours was nervous of the walk along the pier.

A great place to spend half an hour or so. Very informative guides and the chance to see a working lifeboat close to. There is a shop on site and a lovely cafe nearby but unfortunately the cafe is seasonal and closed during winter months.
