Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful old church with very nice ornaments. Walls made by coral and egg white. A good quiet atmosphere.

This quaint Catholic church in Dauis, Bohol is among the churches destroyed by the strong earthquake in 2011. I am lucky to have been able to take the photographs before that time. The church is being fully restored to its old glory.

We happened to bump into the chief engineer during our visit and she said the renovations would be completed by July. The church was damaged by the 2013 earthquake but has been repaired and repainted so it is looking very bright and new.

While on scooters heading back to Alona Beach we stopped at this church. It is well worth a visit. They were decorating for a wedding but we still were allowed in to see. Very ornate for the location.

Dauis Church is a beautiful church with serene surroundings. The restoration of the church post the damage done by earthquake is impressive. The restoration is still in progress. This will be part of most of the day tour packages.

Our Lady of Assumption Church (Dauis Church)
This Church is usually part of the Panglao Island Tour, it has no entrance fees but you can give donations
We took mass to this church in the morning as it's the closest Catholic church to our Hotel which is La Veranda Beach Resort.
This has a nice beach view and there is a shade where you can relax and enjoy the view.

Dauis Church is still being rebuilt but the aura of simple living and spiritual devotion is still at its peak. Silence abounds; and the seascape alongside the Church makes it a great place to sit, reflect, and meditate on the goodness of God and His creation. The earthquake may have damaged a part of the church; but is has not touched the seascape and spirituality of the place.
Visit Dauis Church during weekdays and see the church and the seascape through my eyes. And then, return again and again. The aura never changes.

A lot has happened to this beautiful place, and the restoration after the earthquake recently is fantastic. Beautifully painted roof and the more you look around, the more you see. I have been through some big cathedrals in Europe, but this one is a real little beauty. Acoustics are excellent. A must visit if you are nearby.

Wonderful place with the Miraculous Water by the Altar. Very solemn place for praying and admiring the church at the same time.
