Fun and entertaining
Sep. 2019
A tour and wine tasting at this old winery was as fun and entertaining a tour as we had hoped for. The tour began with an explanation of the history of the winery followed by a tour of the old brick lined and curved ceiling wine cellar. We then were seated at large picnic style tables and took part in a wine tasting which included detailed information on the wines. After that we took the opportunity to purchase wines at their store. Highly recommended activity.

Impressive Old Cellar
Jul. 2019 • Friends
Came here with 2 friends on a guided tour and was in awe at the old wine cellars. It was very interesting to hear the history, especially how the wine was kept hidden through wars. If you have asthma or breathing issues though this may not be the place for you because there was a lot of dust/mildew/mold.

Worth the diversion
May 2019 • Couples
Visited the cave as a group of eight. The guide spoke of the extraordinary success of a devoted steward in hiding the most treasured vintages behind false walls to prevent their being pillaged by marauding militias. Our hosts served a delicious lunch in a very comfortable reception hall to go with the sampling of various wines.

Impressive 150 year old winery
Apr. 2019 • Solo
We visited as part of a river cruise bus tour but the public is welcome. The winery offers tours of it's extensive aging cellars along with free or low cost tasting and visitor discounts for your own bottle choices. Example: a white 2017 Trammaner usually 35 Kuna was on sale at just 25 Kuna ( about US $4.25). The staff can
provide expert descriptions. An adjoining restaurant and b & b provide more options. The town museum next door has an excellent explanation of the area and building history.

Ilok is a delight

The dessert wine is their best. The traminac is good and they have a special reserve of this that is quite tasty. Take the tour of the caves for the history of the region and wine production in Serbia and this part of Croatia

Environment for nature lovers and wines for every taste
Dec. 2018 • Couples
After a long trip we stopped there to take a break and see something nice. Cellars are really great and do take a guided tour as you will, for a small fee, get a guide and a glass to try all the wines they keep there. Guide was very helpful and knowledgeable.

There is a very nice tour and wine tasting here. The tour through the wine cellar with the really old wines is very interesting. And the tasting showcases some nice wines. We bought a bottle and enjoyed it later.

An historical winery in Eastern Croatia
Oct. 2017 • Couples
These cellars are located next door to the Odescalchi Castle (and Museum). The complex is formed by several buildings, including the historical cellars, the tasting room and wine shop and an outdoor cafe, in the shade, under some old trees. It is suirrounded by reasonably well kept gardens, with a few romantic touches. it is a pleasant place to visit, so the River cruise groups stop here regularly. We visited with our fguide and the local winemaker gave us a guided tour of the entire place. Afterward, we had a brief wine tasting. We were offered four different wines, two whites and two reds. The whites were fruity, light and sweeter than we usually enjoy our wines. However, they were pleasant enough. The reds were also light, young and without much character. In fairness, we were not offered the reserve wines to taste, so those could have been better. The wines we tasted were quite inexpensive. Croatien and Slovenian wines can be found all over Europe, and they are well known for quality whites and low to moderate prices.
