Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful castle built on a promontory overlooking the sea of volcanic origin. It is definitely worth a visit if only for the splendid view. Be careful though, there is an entrance fee and they only accept cash. The small internal botanical garden is truly beautiful, displaying various plant species typical of Sicily and beyond. Inside there is a small museum but nothing exceptional. If you pass by Aci Castello it is definitely worth a visit.

…I only saw this fascinating Castle of Aci from the outside!!…it can be seen in Aci Castello a few kilometers from Catania!!…it is said that it was built on a lava flow from many centuries ago!!…and it is also said that which previously existed in another fortification which served to defend the population!!…it is located right above the sea!!…currently inside the Castle there is a civic museum which exhibits elements of mineralogy…paleontology and archaeology!!… definitely!!…very interesting!!…

Awesome Castle on black lava rock cliff above the ionian sea. From here was possible see enemy from sea and from land. Today is one place don't forget to see. From the top the view is fantastic. Second my preferences it will be awesome during the storm days when the big waves hit the rock and the little drops of water nebulizer on the air making the atmosphere under the light more mystical

Beautiful spot of this island, near Catania. We saw it from the Aci Castello promenade. Located on a cliff, in a little bay where you can see the faraglioni. We didn't go very close to it but it's spectacular and it deserves a more accurate visit

My colleagues and I finished our business at NASSIG and got done early so we could tour this amazing castle. Sure, there is not a whole lot of it left, but the views from it and the landscaping inside it are truly awesome. My friends and I enjoyed a good two hours breathing in the magnificent views from this historic castle. And it only cost three Euro.

A beautiful trip back in time.
What remains of the manor is well kept. Inside there is a museum, a chapel and a small botanical garden.
This Castle hosted several illustrious people, and even the remains of Sant'Agata stopped here before leaving for Catania.
From the high spaces you can admire breathtaking views. A visit absolutely not to be missed.

the city is pretty nice and typical for this region, but Normans castle built over 900 years ago is breathtaking ... it looks like a great stone vessel, entering the bay into the city ...

Do buses run from Catania to Aci trezza on Sundays? Alexander.
Written 9 April 2018

Dove trascorrere due notti? A Acicastello, Acitrezza o Acireale? Cosa mi consigliate?
Written 3 April 2018

How do I get there if I do not have a car from Catania center?
Written 12 February 2016
Hello! There are several regular buses, but unfortunately they do not go very often and all transport does not work on Sundays. You could find some information in the internet before trip, for example here - aziendasicilianatrasporti
Also you could rent the bike/scooter or car. It is really comfortable, especially if you would like stay in Catania or somewhere close during several days. We rent the scooter and visited Aci Castello, Ethna, Viagrande, Cyclops coast...
