Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We got the mid-morning train from Porto to Regua and decided to splash out on a taxi up to this mirador which is about 25 minutes ride and cost €30 including waiting time, it was worth it. Although it was overcast the views are stunning and take in river valley below and all the terraced vineyards around. We got dropped off at one of the wine tasting places near town & enjoyed some lovely refreshing port!

Was there for just a few minutes but it is worth staying a whole day! There is a beautiful restaurant and hotel at this location. The Douro Valley is amazing place to visit and to discover. You need to rent a car or tour guide with a car.

Amazing way and incredible views. The good place for the picnic. There is a cafe with the balcony, where you can drink the wine and impress from the Douro view.

Very cold and dense mist.
I do not know if this is common in winter and never saw any mention or warning. 6 deg in Porto may be significant.

Although it was raining (not heavy rain) it was still definitely worth a visit. There’s a nice little church and views all around. In summertime this must be a good spot for a picknick as there are several tables and places to sit. There’s a little cafe just down from the viewpoint.

The place is so beautiful that in any season of the year it is wonderful to climb S. Leonardo de Galafura and enjoy the enchantment of the landscape! I believe, however, that the period prior to harvesting (July, August and September) will be a one-of-a-kind show!

Worth visiting as the view is amazing. You park just on the top of the hill - no trekking is needed. There is a nice picnic area and public toilets are also available. At the top you will also find a small church, which was closed when I went.

Our guide Fernando Almeida took us to this viewpoint overlooking the Douro Valley. It was the end to a perfect day being able to savour the scenery here.

We're planning to get to Douro by train. How can we visit this place? Are there regular buses or tours solely to the viewpoint that we can book?
Written 19 February 2022
Is this area accessible by a large bus? We are traveling as a group on a charter bus. I wonder if it's possible to drive up there on a large vehicle or is it only accessible by small cars.
Written 21 June 2019
Yes it is viable, we were a group of 60 people in a bus, sorry the timming

Is this easy to find on the way to Quinta de Pego. Leaving from Porto. How difficult is the drive?
Written 16 April 2019
I do not know the farm, the trip does well but the final part is a bit more boring, about 2kms, but it's worth the trip, it's wonderful.
Sorry the timming
