Amazing views! Really worth of going a long way down and up! Recommend to wear comfortable shoes. But The most important- enjoy and not hurry.

This is probably one of if not the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, and I got married in the Caribbean! It's a long, horrible off road drive, right on the side of a mountain to get to the car park, and it's utterly...More

It's quite a drive once you leave the main road, but the views are excellent. We arrived early, about 830, couldn't have been 5 people on the beach. So quiet, peaceful and beautiful. By the time we left, about 1600, the beach was packed with...More

The location is absolutely a paradise on Earth. Clear warm water, and white sands. In June the only bar available was closed. If you go by car and then walking, be careful. The street by car is 7km, and you can drive only very slowly,...More

Pictures just won't do it! Walking down to the beach from the cliff is impressive and beautiful. The drive to the beach is very rough as there is no proper road but once there it pays back the pain of the journey. Just take it...More

There is no good or drink there. Before you hit the 7km road to the beach there is a restaurant where you may be able to pick up some food. A small soft sided cooler would be a good idea.
What is the best way to get to Balos beach from Chania Town? (if you don't have a car).

If you do not want to rent a car (like me), your own hotel will get an agency that will arrange the tour. I went to Balos with a Van and then ferry. It was an excellent tour.
is there a small taxi boat that takes you from Balos beach to Gramvousa Fortress?
