Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Morpeth Antique Centre is one of the main attractions in Morpeth. It’s an Aladdin’s cave of antiques, vintage treasures, retro pieces and curios.
25 dealers are gathered together over two levels, making it something of a rabbit warren and fun to explore.
The centre is housed inside the old Campbell’s Store building, which is also one of the historic sights on the Morpeth Heritage Walking Trail.
Even for those who are not in the least bit interested in antiques or shopping, there are a lot of fun pieces and curious items.
Out the back is an original slab hut cottage of the kind built by the first settlers. Next to it is an old brake van. Built in the 1860s for a private railway line, it transported coal from the Minmi mines to the ships at Hexham.
Inside, it’s a treasure trove spread over two levels. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands, its impossible to see everything. We spent a lot of time reminiscing over nostalgic kids’ toys and trying on hats in the upstairs section.
There’s also a small cafe in the old servants’ quarters. The scones looked great although we didn’t stop here this time.
NOTE: The centre is only open Thursday to Sunday, but it has long opening hours, from 10am – 5pm.

I visited Morpeth whilst travelling from the Hunter Valley to Shoal Bay, and this was my favourite thing to do in town. The antique centre is a collective of stall holders under one roof, and it’s a bazaar of curiosities and opportunity. The variety of items on offer was incredible. Recommended!

Appalled to see Nazi memorabilia for sale . Although not illegal , profiting from the sale of these items is upsetting to see .

I am not an antique lover but I thought that this shop was worth a quick look just to see what was on offer. Answer - just about anything non-food that I could think of from books, to coins and banknotes, dolls, militaria, furniture, lighting, glass, porcelain, jewellery etc and much more and that was within the first 5 minutes of entering. The shelfs, cabinets, hanging spaces and aisles were chock full of items for sale.

If you are interested in antiques and shopping this is the place for you. I found it overwhelming.

Love the eclectic variety of collectables here. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Lots to see upstairs and downstairs. Didn't try the cafe but it looked lovely. There was even a local ladies knitting group in action upstairs when we visited. Strong sense of community was evident.
