One of our faves in the hunter and cannot leave without a visit to see Brad & Heather, and stock up on wines, oils and Dukkah ! Often you can see kangaroos in the grounds too!

I have been to my fair share of wineries in the hunter and nothing quite compares to Lucy’s run. They are a family owned business run by husband/wife duo Brad and Heather who are honestly the most lovely couple.
Their wines are absolutely phenomenal and this trip I bought one of every wine on the tasting list. Brad went through the tasting with us and was extremely attentive to any questions we had on the wines and the vineyard. It felt very intimate as he sat down with us for almost an hour as he explained everything from how they picked the grapes to the graphics on the wine bottles. He even warmed up some bread and put out a spread of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and za’atar which very kindly was on the house.
Every time I come here I know I’m going to be treated as part of the family and will walk away with some seriously good wine.
Thank you so much Brad and Heather!

Visited Lucy’s Run on recommendation from owner of nearby accommodation. Simple, unpretentious cellar door. Owners were very friendly, accommodating & treated us like old friends. Wine very drinkable with generous tasting sizes. A must visit when in the Hunter Valley!

Book ahead for everything in the Hunter Valley At the moment. We got a delicious platter with the tasting and friendly service. A bonus that they donate to animal welfare groups- one of the best visits we had over 4 days in the area - doesn’t look much but worth a try.

Excellent selection of Great value wines. Informative tasting session with humorous anecdotes thrown in for free. The home made Dukkah is worth a visit too.

We're veterans (25+ years) of wine tasting and stumbled onto Lucy's run doing a U-turn and so delighted to have stumbled upon. Having learned from experience that some of the best wines (and worst) come from the most unpretentious establishments, we were thrilled that Lucy's is one of the former.
The two Verdelhos we tasted were radically different fro each other but fantastic, and the merlot was a terrific surprise. Lovely shiraz, of course but the best part was c0-owner Brad. So charming and gracious.
We bought in addition to wine to stow in suitcases some olive oil that we'll taste when back home. Bonus: Lucy's run donates monies to animal rescue.

Well, that's such a great review - thank you!
You really hit the nail on the head - we're unpretentious (well we ARE in a tin shed!), but we have great wines, and as we're so small we aim to make our wines enjoyable for all; we so hope that more people appreciate that the little guys can do a really good job.
Again, thank you for your terrific review, and next time you're back over our way, please drop in to see us again.
Brad (and Heather, too!)

The place had been recommended so we stopped in and it was a wonderful find. The couple who run it were very friendly, not pushy and confident in their wines.
Very knowledgeable and really let you enjoy the moment and there surrounds. I love the fact that the wines are named after their rescue animals and they support pet rescue.
We had a case sent home- lovely crisp Verdelho, delicate balance.
Well worth a stop

Thank you for taking the time to tell everyone about your (positive) experience with us - that's just so great to hear!
Brad and I do love our wines, so we do like talking about them, and we really don't feel the need to be pushy - it's just not in us to be like that, anyway. All we can hope for is that everyone who visits us really does enjoy our wines, and will take something away with them.
And yes, we do like to have a bit of fun when naming our wines, why not! ... just wait until our 2020 wines roll out!
Again, thank you for your feedback, and please come and see us again when you're back in Hunter wine country.

We have been to the Hunter many times and generally go to the bigger, more popular wineries. Our wine tour recommended Lucy's Run amd she was spot on. Being animal lovers we were pleasantly surprised that they have a range of wine that they donate fund from to Pet Rescue. Their gourmet range of dukkah, zattar, balsamic glase and olive oils is outstanding. Brad and Heather are great hosts, I wish we had more time to spend at this winery. Definitely recommend this as a stop when in the Hunter.

Well how good, is that? - thank you for such a lovely review and for the generous recommendation!
We ARE small, hard to find, and aren't as recognisable as the bigger cellar doors, but our winemakers do a bloody good job for us, and we do love our wines, so it's not hard for us to be enthusiastic - especially if I've had a few rosés!
We hope you'll come back to see us next time you're in Hunter wine country.
Cheers - Heather & Brad

The perfect cellar door to end a hard day of wine tasting! Our two pups were warmly welcomed as were we! Brad and Heather were great explaining their wines and we brought back a number, including the wonderful Sweet Sophie: as one of our pups shares the name we couldn't pass them up and they are delicious. We are returning in two months!

Hello, hello, hello! How remiss of us to be so late in responding ... blame it on the vino, I do!
Thank you for visiting, and double thank you for bringing along your doggos - we're big fans of guests bringing in their puppers ... it makes our day! We do also love it when guests love our wine - we think it's pretty bloody good too. We reckon you must be almost out of Sweet Sophie, so please come by soon for a top-up.
Again, thank you for your kind words and we really do look forward to seeing you and your furkids on your next visit to Hunter Wine Country.
Cheers - Brad & Heather
