Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a wonderful spot, easily accessible by bike from Creel if you're mildly fit. Otherwise, take a taxi out here, and walk around. Mostly level, with nice views from many spots. We visited as part of a guided tour, only a short stop. It's well worth a bike ride from Creel, with many other nearby spots. I'm old-ish (64), but could easily have done this from Creel. An hour or two would yield a nice afternoon visit.

Lake Arareco is just outside of Creel. A very picaresque mountain lake within the Raramuri lands surrounding Creel. Not much there besides the lake, though.

The lake is very pristine. The area was well kept. The area is very accessible with plenty of vista points.

We were on our last day of our visit to the Copper Canyon and took a tour of the area around Creel. The lake is about 5 miles outside of Creel. It is very picturesque and I saw saw a sign advertising boats. The rock formations on the island in the middle of the lake were very interesting. The lake itself is not huge so it would probably only take a couple of hours to row around the island. There is a large meadow on the north side of the lake and trails into the hills. Since we were only there for 30 minutes, we weren't able to explore as much as I would have liked, but i would highly recommend a day trip if you are in the Creel area.

Nothing special especially if you are from Canada where there are hundreds of thousands lakes like this.

The lake is nice but honestly it's not extraordinary, maybe if we had hiked around it it might've been more interesting. There are a tarahumara children selling handicrafts and/or asking for money. If you can bring fruit for them, it would be a nice gesture and you don't encourage begging.

Great place for a leisurely quiet hike. I would be a great place to have a picnic or to camp for a few days. Only a few miles from Creel, but surprisingly, very few visitors.

My wife, 11-year-old daughter and I visited the lake at the beginning of a snow storm. The falling snowflakes decorated the surrounding pine forest. We joined a Rarámuri (Tarahumara family) around a bonfire and shared food and stories. Unique, handmade crafts were also available for sale. We almost camped, but the weather conditions were too risky. A beautiful and peaceful place for camping when the weather is mild.

A pretty lake very near Creel where you can see a lake as a mirror for sky. Surely for people from the great lakes (Canada, North USA) is a very little one, but this one is also very close to Copper Canyon, a great geological marvel!!!!

It was a great experience. A local friend took me there to go sight seeing. IT was a nice drive. We stopped and took pictures of the lake. We admired its beauty. We then went to go see the arts and crafts that the Raramuri people make.

Saludos
