Apart from I love the nice, tranquil, unspoiled island, the one other thing that this place stand out is its people. No matter which hotel/resort you stay, people here treat you as their guest. Even the dogs here are friendly! They are nice enough to keep me company.

It was such a great exprrience to visit a place just six hours travel time from Manila and see this serene, untouched and calm island of Maniwaya. We're group of friends and we wanted to unwind from busy work, and found this lovely Marikit na Resort . We stayed for two days, and the food was nice and delicious, the... More

I was invited by former workmates in this place and we spent just the weekend for this getaway. I've been here about 5 years ago and I can say that the place has quite improved as I saw new resorts being established in the place. We stayed at the Playa Amara Resort which is kinda modernized in terms of architecture... More

It's very far from Manila but when you arrive it's all paid off. We stay somewhere in Maniwaya and I find the beach close to perfection. What I hated there was the Huge wave when we returned to the island we stayed but overall it's amazing.

Pros: - Has sandbar - Clean water - Good and accomodating people around the area Cons: - Some parts of the beach contains too many algae that you can hardly walk on it with your bare feet alone - Sandbar is not available on high tide moments - Some parts of the beach are not too maintained and well taken... Maniwaya Island in Marinduque is like a mysterious woman.. whom you cant really pinpoint whats good with her or whats not... Ok lets look at the good side. It's quiet. Not to many people go there. It has a beautiful sunset. It has a very nice view of the Milky Way!!!! (That made my experience worth memorable). The sandbar is... More

Maniwaya island is about a 3-45 mins from Buyabod port located in the town of Sta. Cruz, Marinduque. There are several resorts to choose from in the island. The beach is white but not that fine. The are is also littered with sea grass, hence not very ideal for swimming especially during low tide. Palad sand bar, a more ideal... More

- not so fine sands (mostly coral debris) - too much seaweed - tranquil place though - scheduled electricity - what I like here is that the water current is not that strong and there's not much wave - people here are very nice
