Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great experience! The historic centre is pretty and has several shops and restaurants to visit. You have to research a lot because the prices are a bit high, but it is worth the experience. For those who like crafts, there are several shops.

However, I recommend staying in Pirenópolis for a maximum of 3 days, as there are not so many things to do in the city.

Everything is very beautiful and well maintained. Good for "walking the walk". Lots of little shops and bars. I felt the lack of museums, since the only one that was open was the Museu do Divino. Furthermore, a journey through time.

Pirenopolis, founded in 1727, is located only 150 km from Brasilia and 120 km from Goiania. The city, which is designated as a National Historical and Artistic Heritage site, has all the charm of interior Brazil. Visitors are invited to experience its colonial buildings, its rich and hearty cuisine available in Pirenopolis restaurants, and its numerous waterfalls, best accessible on a Pirenopolis tour.
Here, traditional festivals and holidays such as the Feast of the Divine and Cavalhadas coexist harmoniously with contemporary life, in a city with one of the most avant-garde proposals for sustainable living in Brazil.

This is a quaint and well-preserved historic town about 160 kilometres drive from Brasilia. Depending on traffic and road closures it could be anything from 1.5 to 3 hours (it took us 3 hours due to a road closure and detour, which according to our guide, are frequent).

The town is pleasant to wander around, and on a Monday in October it was quiet. The restored church is worth a visit, although check opening hours as I think it is only open from 2pm.

Some nice restos to lunch in and craft shops to browse.

There is also a river which looks very inviting, but you shouldn't swim in that as it is polluted - even though some people do... In any case, to get the most of the day trip try to visit some of the waterfalls nearby - not sure it is worth such a long drive for the town alone.

To be honest combined a stop here on the way to vaga fogo sanctuary. Found the town to be a charming, colorful array of arts and crafts shops filled with local handiworks and some strange items one could find anywhere in the world. Also very beautiful restored church. Really nice that it's all very walkable, accentuated by cobble stone streets.

The city is so small, but so nice and beautiful! You can walk in the stone engraved streets with historic buildings, buy gifts in the squares or in the “store street” or just chill in a quiet square, after a delicious lunch in any of the local cuisine restaurants.

Taking a walk through the historic district of this charming little town will be well worth your while. Sure Pirenopolis is known for its beautiful waterfalls, but don't forget to plan at least one day to explore the many unique stores and restaurants.
