Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Definitely a beautiful journey all the way up the valley. The views of the houses and village down there were really neat!

This landmark as it now stands is as a result of Government intervention. A once towering mound, "the Hill'" as it was commonly called was once a primary source for building material (gravel) in the South. Halting the removal of material and adding access roads has made this a popular spot for functions, family outings and just an opportunity to view the surrounding area from a vantage point. It's an experience that defies description but is worth living.

Although the drive was steep and a bit winding, the view at the top was refreshing. My family and I were able to have a photo shoot done for my wedding anniversary. The scenery was spectacular and there was a lot of space and a pathway to walk.
We had a very enjoyable evening.

Supposed to be a national landmark but as with everything in trinidad it is being exploited for gain and want to be controlled by a few who feel they are entitled. Have been there many times.free to explore but for the easter vacation when most kids are home and welcome outdoor activity it was closed for a nine night prayers and patrons were told if they wanted to visit they had to walk up the hill. On reaching after an exhausting walk in the midday sun we were greeted by a woman that wanted to know how we reached there and because we had a pizza wanted to know if we were eating meat. So after what seemed like the spanish inquisition we were told we could not go in the viewing area which is supposed to be open to the public that we could only use the shed although there were clearly tents outside where the event was held and not in the viewing area with the binoculars which the kids were looking forward to visiting. If even this area was booked. I think they could have communicated better. So we were made to feel like second class citizens in our own country. Clearly very soon to even be granted the priveledge to visit these once free areas will be at a cost or only for the elite. Apparently now you should call first and not take it for granted that it is open to the public at the hours advertised especually if you are coming from a far distance as we were. Only in Trinidad. Imagine this national landmark once free to the publuc now has restrictions.

There's nothing more beautiful than Mother Nature and her ability to slow you down! Breathtaking views of the island San Fernando hill is a treat! My love was born and raised there and had never been but decided to take me. We stopped and grabbed some lunch from
The Great Wall which is steps away and we ate at the picnic tables. It was really relaxing and even though it rained it didn't matter because it was so beautiful up there. Definitely family friendly, enough parking and tons of space.

This hill is in my home town. My family frequently picnic here. It is very scenic and peaceful. The venue can host weddings and concerts. It is a must see if visiting South Trinida.

This is perfect for a nice quiet drive that leads up to the hill. There is a good panoramic view of the City and of the refinery in the gulf. However know that the hill may be closed for private functions and visitors aren't allowed after 6pm.

This is a great spot if you have small children and want a breezy and open park for them to run around. Also great place to have a picnic or to just hangout with family and friends.
I would say to walk with your open toilet paper as there is none in the washrooms.
