Beautiful Grounds - Amazing building...

A fab place to visit - they have days where there is lots of interaction for children. the gardens are beautiful and the walks around the grounds are lovely. Well worth a visit.

Called in at the castle on our route home, nice sunny but cold day and decided to walk from the car park as opposed to taking the shuttle, wish we hadn't with the steep climb we had to do but sure better for us. Castle opened at 12 and we could have had a coffee but waited in the sunshine,... More

My girlfriend and I paid a visit to Chirk Castle today and it was a relaxed and charming experience. It was our first visit here and seemed very quiet today. We went on the short guided tour at 11:15am and was shown around by a polite gentleman and named Brian. Then we took a walk around the dungeon areas and... More

Castle and grounds beautiful. Tour guides very knowledgeable. Definitely worth joining one of the guided tours. Cafe on-site welcoming with a good choice of refreshments.

We were glad we decided to do the House tour at 11.15am as the softly-spoken gentleman was very knowledgeable. Subsequent research shows the Myddletons lived at Chirk Castle until 2004 when Mr Guy Myddleton decided there were too many tourists so moved to Wilcott, Nesscliffe, near Shrewsbury with his young family. They still keep the "Batchelor Tower" as their private... More

Fabulous castle withe feel of a family home as well as a fortress. Amazing artefacts and insight into daily life in the castle. Gardens are a joy with lots of amazing shrubs and flowers topped with fantastic views.

Well worth a visit. Huge castle and very impressive. Makes a huge impression as you approach. There is a little bus you can request if you can't manage the hill. Had a wonderful time exploring!

A lovely visit, knowledgable guides and, as ever, tasty treats in the tearoom! The castle had a very homely feeling to it - I could have lived there quite easily!

We visited Chirk Castle this week-end and were so glad we did, we are members of the National Trust so are used to visiting this type of property but I have to say we thought Chirk Castle was among the better ones we have seen, the grounds were very good, the staff were so friendly and helpful, there was a...
