We only walked a short distance over the aqueduct but will hopefully walk further next time or even cycle It has a wide towpath near the aqueduct so we’re hoping it is like that for the 8.5 mile distance...

Such a wonderful feat of engineering for it's time. We so enjoyed the walk across and then back again as we are staying in a cottage very near the Aqueduct. The views are fantastic and we took so many photos. Small carpark in Chirk Bank...More

It was a amazingly warm day in October warmest ever apparently. Great to see the long tunnel and the the aqueduct. Access from village down a sleep slope so tough getting back to the top if infirm

Hi, sorry can't help you with the 45 min boat ride ticket, but, if you contact the Llangollen Tourist Information I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. Thanks for asking, CW

Sadly NOT at Chirk ( only if you hitch a ride ) but the LLangollen Viaduct does trips across that Viaduct from Trevor side you can walk across and ride a barge back ..

There is a cafe very close to both the chirk tunnel and aquaduct that has free parking for the walk and is lovely to pop in for a cuppa. It's just across the road from the aquaduct and tunnel.
