    Wonderful, Beautiful Park
We only spent an afternoon here but I wish we’d spent all day. We drove up to the Chutes Croches first, which was an 8-10 minute walk up and down a very clear path to a pretty waterfall. Then we drove up a little further to Chutes du Diable, which was even more impressive! The walk was also pretty easy but more like 15 minutes, and the waterfall was very powerful, even in August. Then we drove back down and had lunch at a lovely lake on the opposite side of the road. After our picnic, we drove to the Lac Monroe visitors’ center and rented kayaks for the family to take out onto the lake. When we finished kayaking we took the kids to a nearby playground and then left the park to have dinner. It was a great afternoon and I hope we get to come back one day.

Roads closed/most sectors have only VERY limited access/some sectors are unsafe
Excuse the wordy review, we think this info is important. We had a very pleasant stay in the eastern sector of the park in August. We loved the yurt, lake, and natural beauty of the park. But we strongly suggest you avoid the area for the foreseeable future due to bad roads, detours, endless roadblocks, and closure of campgrounds/cabins/yurts. The area is infamous for poor roads and recent rains have made things worse. Many roads in and around the park are closed so getting there is difficult or impossible. The rain washed away sections of road and left potholes and huge ruts. In some spots entire lanes have disappeared. The roads that are "open" are in such bad shape that they should probably be closed. Getting to the park is very difficult. We arrived at the Saint Donat entrance to be told the road is closed (you can enter the welcome center and uturn around the gate). Staff sent us on a detour which took ninety minutes to enter via another entrance. At that entrance staff told us they were refusing entry up until a few hours before our arrival. They allowed us to enter but advised we drive no faster than 15 - 25 km an hour to avoid loosing control on loose gravel. It's so bad a park employee turned up a couple of hours later to make sure we reached our yurt safely. After that a park employee dropped by every two days to ensure we were safe. I can't emphasize how terrible the roads are, they are unsafe. There is no cell service so if you get stuck or have an accident you will wait hours before a park employee discovers you. Park employees told us they reevaluate day by day and for the most part phone people with overnight reservations and tell them not to come. Having your booking cancelled 24 hours in advance means you have probably already packed the camping gear and it's too late to go anywhere else. Even worse, if you miss that call you could drive all the way there to be turned around at the entry gate. Park employees told us they hope the government will fix the roads next spring BUT this means the area will be a construction site. We have been in a SEPAQ park during construction, it is dreadful. On a positive note, we had the park to ourselves. Park staff turned away visitors up until a few hours before we arrived so we were the only overnight visitors in the eastern sector of the park. Such peace and quiet. We will return in the future but only after the infrastructure situation is better.

    Great Kayaking Destination
We recently visited the Parc National Du Mont-Tremblant and went kayaking on the Diable River. At the rental location, the park staff loaded the kayak onto a trailer and took us to the launching point for our adventure. Once we got started, we hit some small rapids. The water was unusually shallow, so there were a few points where we got stuck and had to get out and pull the kayak out of the rock. However, once we got past those rapids, the rest of the trip was serene with amazing scenery. After about 4 hours on the water, we reached the end pont of our trip, where the park staff were waiting to help us load the kayak and return to our cars. This ativity was a nice change of pace from the ski resort and I would defiitely recommend to anyone who wants to experience nature.

I have been camping in parks administered by SEPAQ every year for the last 17 years, and I was enjoying it every time, until now. Today I had an awful experience at Mont Tremblant park (camping lac Monroe). I booked my 3 nights stay ahead of time, and my son and I were very excited about it, because we had a good time last year. The reason was, the guinea pig of my son. My son wanted to take it with us, not knowing that the guinea pigs are not allowed in Quebec's parks. When I made my reservation there was nowhere written that they are not allowed and I tried to explain it to the Sepaq's park ranger. I asked him what kind of a threat is an animal that stays in a cage and does not do anything other than breathing the air of the park. It does not even move, and does not leave the car. I also mentioned that we are coming from Ottawa and that it is a 7 hour drive if we have to go back to leave them with my wife. He did not care, instead he took my drivers licence and started to write something, and also threatened me that I am going to receive a $3000 fine. I asked for a copy of what he just wrote, but he insisted that I will receive it by mail. He then said "Now leave, and never come back". I mentioned that I already paid for my stay, and asked if I would get my money back. His response was to forget about that. By the way, after the fact I googled Sepaq rules about pets and I was shocked when I found that dogs are allowed. Dogs which walk around everywhere can carry diseases, are loud and also can be dangerous for other visitors. I never heard of someone being bitten by a guinea pig, or someone complaining of a guinea pig barking in the middle of the night. So what I am trying to say is that these rules are absurd. The attitude of the Sepaq employee was unacceptable. It is not important to do your job, it is important , how you do it. The park ranger was rude and disrespectful. He made my kids crying. We were treated like criminals, literally.

Superb park where nature reigns supreme. We spent 4 wonderful days there hiking, swimming, biking and sailing on Lake Monroe, we saw so many animals... magical... even saw the family of loons on the lake.
The park is extremely clean, the hiking trails very clear and the difficulty levels match the information given.
Special mention for the kindness and professionalism of the park rangers. This park is a real treasure to disconnect. Just remember to bring your own snacks if you go there for the whole day because the reception centers are poorly stocked

Large beautiful spaces! A superb view. No overtourism! More than 400 lakes on the park.

Paying park upon arrival at the national park: free child and around $9 CAD for adults.

We were towards the reception desk canoe rental, pedalo, paddle there is also a Shop where you can buy food and drink.

After a rental of 4 hours of pedalo we wanted to go to the beach of La rack not far.
Small flat: Many pebbles provide shoes to go into the water. Small "beach" space to land.
Pros: for children sandbox and playground.

We went to see the falls Hooks
Accessible 400m from parking on foot by path.

It was a beautiful day.

So huge that it would take several days.

We just did our first ski vacation at Mont-Tremblant, after many summer visits, and it was more and beyond what we have expected. We arrived on Christmas Eve, the village was beautifully decorated and full of life. Our family studio at La Mountagne place was incredible. Simple, but very spacious for what we expected, fully equipped kitchen, and very comfortable sleeping arrangements. A hot tub and a pool table, indoor parking garage, very affordable, were such a great addition to the property. The next day we started skiing. The amount and condition of the over 100 slopes was amazing. There is plenty of different levels and varieties of difficulties of the trails which is perfect for us being a family with different skill levels. The lodge at the top of the mountain offers spectacular views, it is lovely to have warm soup and drink after a few hours of skiing and spent some rest time with a younger child while the other half of the family take the great adventure slopes. Incredible days and evenings full of laughts, great food, and creating fantastic memories. We are already booking our next trip!

Did the canoeing, wasn’t expecting how shallow the water was, and how intense the rapids were. The guides insisted that rapid were a one time thing and level 1 rapid but once we bagan the rapids were above beginner and carried on for quite a while, including very shallow waters where we got stuck half the time and had to push ourselves out of the rocks and sand that the canoe kept scraping which did not sound good or felt safe. There were no markers or indicators on which way to navigate half the time we thought we were lost or past the point of no return. Overall a beautiful location but clearly the guides have not been through their own river to accurately verbally explain where to go/where to stop and how intense the rapids could be at times.

Great outdoors, easy to access and a must visit if already in vicinity.
Hiking trails easy to follow and generally timings exaggerated, easy to complete in 60% of time suggested.
Lovely little beaches for picnics, and all sorts of lazy water sport rentals.
Plan to spend a full day, burn some energy, then chill.

We just stayed at Diable section on Lake Monroe and being the last week of August you can fire a gun off in the place during the week

We tented in Grenouille and there was 3 tents in the whole place during the week, weekends sold out but the campsites are very private and well separated by trees.

Plenty of deer ( right on our site ) and raccoons chipmunks etc etc. There is no bear or wolf in the lower section of the park but still lock up the coolers as the raccoons have scheduled nightly patrols.

Lac Monroe was excellent for kayaks , swimming and canoeing.

If you dont need flush toilets and dont mind driving to the discovery for a shower there was alot of nice tenting sites up the road on the north east side of lac monroe

The bike trail around Lac Monroe is 13,5 k and easy but there is full blown mountain bike trails and unlimited hiking trails with 75 to 1000 ft climbs. People of all skill levels can find a trail to meet your skills

The visitor center has kayak canoe and peddle boat rentals if you need and full laundry and free wifi (if you cant live without it)

The actual town of Mont Tremblant is 40 minutes away and has everything you need including multiple grocery stores , Dollarama , Canadian tire etc etc . The Ski village is 20 minutes from the park but a complete rip off ..mind blowing levels of ripoff.

For the last two days we moved to Pimbina sector and rented a Nature Chalet on Lac Provost. Pimbina has less nature trails and bike trials but is close to Saint Donat which was a nice little town and prices are normal .

There is a fantastic boulangerie in the middle of St Donat. ( try the mini olive or chocolate /cranberry buns )

Both locations are great family camping.

It should be noted the entire park is radio and DOG FREE so you don't have to put up with people's dogs barking ruining your trip.

Little note... At the entrance to Diable section there is a store selling wood and ice just outside the park. It is the same price as the park for wood and ice so don't bother stopping as buying from the park keeps prices low at the park

It should be noted that Quebec separates the camping and park use fees

The park user fees are 8.50 a day for adults , kids are free BUT you can get an annual pass for all the provincial parks for 45 a year so if you are camping 6 days or more buy the annual pass.

We had a great weekend at the Lac des sables campground. It is a very quiet park, with a beautiful sandy lake. It was one of the cleanest lakes I have ever seen.

There is a lot to do in this park, which is huge. We did 4 hikes in 2 days and I think there are over 20 different trails. The lookout from the L'envol trail was really pretty.

You are allowed to park 2 cars on the lot.

The only negative point from our weekend is that park rangers are pretty strict about their 11pm "quiet hours". We were only 4 people talking by the fire and at about 11:05pm on the first evening, a park ranger came to tell us to be quiet. I understand they have policies in place if people are partying, cooking or being very loud, but talking by the fire after 11pm does not bother anyone.
