My son and I stayed at Hanazono because that is where the English speaking ski school is based. The snow was dry, powdery and plentiful, but that part of the mountain is a bit underdeveloped in my opinion. The area at the bottom of Hanazono was great for beginners, but there was only one run in the Hanazono area for... More

Of the 3 ski resort areas: Hirafu, Annupuri, and Hanazono, the latter is the most kid friendly. It has a snow park and long magic carpet area for beginners. To complement this, there is a long Green run "Silver dream" which is suitable for beginners to practice, after they leave the magic carpet. The food court is large, although getting... More

Small but premium option for getting away from the crowds - great offpiste options. Not so much great options for skiing on the slopes (however, this isnt the reason why you are here anyway, right?)

Skied to Hanazono everyday just to get in the long fun runs. There are some challenges but also some enjoyable long gentle slopes. Hot chocolate and facilities are awesome. Magic carpets help you get up the hills. It's also stunningly beautiful. There are ski schools over that way, and shuttles buses. Our lesson went over to Hanazono for most of... More

One mountain, 4 ski operations / resorts, giving by 4 different experiences. Hanazono offers wide open quiet slopes with good learner facilities and a high end visitor centre. Hanazono has wide open runs to suit beginners & improved, with an excellent children's beginners area. The mountain base is Styled in a natural wood, reminiscent of Canadian ski bases, it offered... Took the free shuttle bus service over to this awesome resort for some kids programs. Rented the tube which the kids had a lot of fun with it.

Great space to chill and wait out or rest after snowboarding/ski. The rice bowl is nice and the curry rice with chicken is not bad too.
