About
Hanazono Niseko is internationally renowned for its consistently high falls of light powder snow and it's long ski season which runs from early December until April. Averaging around 15m+ of snow each season, Hanazono is famous for its wide open powder bowls and tree runs. The resort is family friendly with a large closed off open area for the resort operated ski school, a beginner snow park and lots of family-friendly activities like our tube park and snowmobiling. Hanazono EDGE is the base to operate your holidays from, it includes a massive restaurant & bar area. Hanazono 308 also has a ticket counter, as well as a rental store and a retail store, which is the starting point for all our activities. In summer it doesn't matter if you’re here for the watersports, golf, biking, hiking, tree trekking or even local cuisine you’re sure to have a great time in and around Hanazono Niseko.

My friends called it a Joke. We were unable to connect to two of the resort areas - the upper lifts weren't running. We decided to hike up the hill from Niseko Village area to Grand Hirafu lift area. Ok, a minor inconvenience. Then we got to the Welcome Centre at hte bottom of teh hill and asked when a bus would come to take us back to the Hilton in Nisesko Yo. Three hours and 45minutes of misdirection and misinformation about buses. We evidentially got on a bus having stood in the carpark and flagged down every likely bus. Ridiculously crowded - the people on the bus booed when the bus stopped to pick up more people. This is such a poor experience, I will never come her again.

I booked a Canyoning tour with Hanazono following advices from Mykola, and I can say the tour I had was amazing.
We went on sunday morning and it was safe, fun and we observed a few things with our guide Shogo (gold, fish...). I was stoked when I saw the last difficulties of the day: un big waterfall and a 6 meters jump!!!
I can say it was totally worth it and I am now thinking about booking another tour to experience the Mach3 zipline

The main resort is the high end Park Hyatt. If you do not have a car, you will be limited within the hotel compound most of the time as there are not many other restaurants or shops around.

The Edge Restuarant at the base station served some nice ramen, pizza and pasta.

The ski slopes are the longest and most scenic among the four resorts around Niseko. It is recommended for intermediate level skiers.

Took 2 days of ski instruction. Zdenek was very professional while friendly. Marg was very patient with us too. In the end, the kids managed a red slope. Wished there was more green slopes that let you come back to Park Hyatt.

Online booking of activities was easy but changes required either email or a phone call.

The arrangement of the surrounding hotels made me feel for a moment like I was at a ski resort overseas.
Many foreigners use this resort.
The ski resort is vast and connects to Grand Hirafu near the top of the course, so a whole day is not enough.
The Hana 1 lift has been renovated to accommodate six people and is now a hooded lift.
A new gondola has also been installed, and the seats are extremely comfortable.
It feels like you're in a resort.
Hokkaido has good snow quality, so this is definitely one ski resort you'll enjoy.

Wow. We explored Hanazono with good snow and had an epic time in the strawberry fields. For anyone seeking pillows, drops, hits everywhere and some steep tech in the trees into a more casual gradient playground at the bottom. My favourite place in Niseko.

Nice ski resort with lots of potential. They just built a Park Hyatt Hotel and Residence with explanations in the plans. Already putting up light poles for night skiing. Plans on putting in new lifts. Currently only three lifts and only day time skiing and snowboarding. They have a park and some of the best tree skiing in Niseko. The most famous of them is called Strawberry Fields.

Can you imagine heated seats and covers on your ski lifts and luxurious, modern cafes and restaurants? Well, that's Hanazono. It's a boarder's paradise over there. Mostly advanced runs (reds) but they are doable. Plus the resort has two terrain parks that are sick! Enthusiastically recommend!

We signed up for our kids aged 5 and 6 for a 1 day course at the school. My daughter who is 6 had a blast and had a really good time. Thanks to teacher Caterpillar Katra.

The whole intention was just to have a fun day in the snow. And I observed the class from a distance occasionally.

However for our kid who just turned 5 in October, I was horrified and disgusted at what I saw and I promptly approached my child and teacher Amy to stop the lesson immediately. My child was unwilling to participate and was uncooperative in the activity at the moment, and was crying alot during the afternoon portion of the class. She gets this way sometimes and it can be hard to work with her. But under no circumstances should the teacher TRIP HER SKI on purpose, while my child was shaken, terrified, crying and helpless on the ground, SHOVED HER SKI and PICK HER UP Forcefully. And I'm glad I did not hear what was being said to her because I might just break some laws for the sake of it.

She cried violently and wailed for a good long time, and when she finally was exhausted from crying, I told her what I saw and why I stopped the class, she broke into soft bitter cry and finally said "that's why I don't want to do anymore", and she thought everything was her fault and. I've since told her a million times it's not her fault and I'm sorry that happened to her.

My child may not be as progressive as others, may be uncooperative and you can think that she is impossible to work with.

Ignore her, walk away, stop the lesson, put her aside, change of activity, time outs or many other option a child educator would know how to apply to the situation.

But you do not touch her like that.

Shame on you Amy.

If you are staying near Hanazono, it is for sure the best way to access the mountain. It is much more quiet, less busy, and accessible than Hirafu. They also have really good rental equipment both skis and snowboards, and the staff was really helpful. You can also get lessons there, but the price is higher than other locations. Maybe be because the are more qualified, but I can't confirm that. Anyway for sure is the most convenient location if you want convenience. The food is also quite good, but try to avoid the usual lunch time, between 12 to 13 when is really busy.
