This property has limited opening hours. Worth checking before travelling. Also there is a cafe, but it is not always open. It was not open on the day we visited despite a sign at the gate saying it was. The guided tour was excellent and the guide (Diana) had a great deal of knowledge about the family history. There are... More

Went with a group the hall is very nice and impressive hard to get through the gate with a coach but possibly nice tea room and nice staff. The hall is full of history and takes time to understand the whole picture or time line but worth the time overall a very interesting hall.

I know it's along time ago; but we still have fond memories. In 2000 and 2005 my old MCC (The Outriders) hosted rallies for the Virago Star Owners Club. Both times we chose Stanford Hall as the venue for the ride-out, as they couldn't do enough to help. We even got a private tour of the house and the owner... More

Went to firework show. They were great but didn't start until 10pm ish! Take a picnic as food was very expensive. Take a blanket and a chair and be there early to get good parking!

This is a fantastic and unpretentious stately home built by the cave family and still privately owned it has a wealth of history and interesting artefacts the guided tour is well worth the money and the tour guides seemed very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, The surrounding grounds and the nearby river are stunning to look at and are host throughout the... What a beautiful place! Lovely gardens, amazing buildings filled with history.... We were attending a family wedding there. The weather was great which made the whole event even more enjoyable. Staff was very polite and helpful. We stayed in one of the Stable rooms - large, spotlessly clean, with en-suit modern bathroom and a very comfy bed. Unfortunately the room... More

Completely unacceptable to have been charged £15 each at gate to gain entry then told enter house to be told in an unhelpful manner that we couldn't see the house without a guided tour. The next tour was just over three hours away so out of the question. What a ridiculous set up. Grounds were beautiful. Tea room ok. I... More
