Very interesting visit

Extremely interesting to see and have explained how the lava caves were formed. Not well signposted, but worth the effort to find the caves

Good parking situation. The tour is guided by people who do not speak english very well and even though no one was portuguese on our tour the facts were also told in portuguese. Information given is boring and because nothing really happened it gets repetitive. The tour is also really expensive. The caves are nice but they added strange aquariums... More

The cave is worth watching if you have never been to a place like this before. The tour itself lacks a bit of information but the museum afterwards provides you with more. The price of 8,50€ is worth only if you have never been to a cave before. Otherwise not reccommendable.

The total tour takes about 1h, consisting of a 20 min walk inside the caves, followed by a film inside the center and another 3D film. Price is €8 pp. the walk is nice and the films informative, but a bit outdated.

After paying you see an exhibition and film show and then are taken down the long lava tunnels. For those who only wish to see the film, there is no requirement to go under ground. Car parking on opposite side of road and a small but super cafe with stunning sea views is available

This was a fantastic trip and we highly recommend it.Its very interesting and informative. Please may I make a few suggestions to improve a very good experience. Have a clock at the cave entrance showing the time of the next tour. This will allow people arriving to calculate whether they have time for a coffee before the tour. The coffee... More

The first part of the tour is really boring and dated especially the 3D movie. After that we were expecting the worse for the caves themselves but it turned out to be a nice long visit with a good guide.

Free parking, friendly helpful staff, €10 entry free , guided tours appear to run every 1/2 hour with a guide who speaks in Portuguese and English. Most informative learning about the volcanic tubes , lava drops, lava that looks like mud but feels like rock... so interesting, then after the cave tour , there is a museum and a 3D... More
