About
A magnificent Grade 1 Listed 17th Century Jacobean Mansion brought back to its former glory. The recent restoration has enabled us a fascinating chance to truly step back in time.Built in 1610, this stunning house has over 400 years of history; deaths, dirty deeds, suicides, it has seen the lot! It is a former court house for the "Hanging Judge Jeffreys" and it is said some of his victims still haunt the house! The house is open for tours on a Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday at 2pm & 3pm. It is said to be the most haunted house in Wales so for those who dare, come and join the Paranormal team on a Saturday night on a hunt for the spirits that inhabit the house!

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION
May 2021
What a lovely night at Plas Teg Jacobean Mansion in such a beautiful location.

Arrived to a warm welcome from two lovely ladies on reception. the house was spotless and very quiet.

Having to book breakfast on arrival due to COVID but this wasn't a problem, very organized, had the choice to have in our room or in the breakfast room.

Breakfast was served promptly when we arrived at our table, lovely waiter, very professional, helpful smart and cheerful.

A great sleep, the bed was comfortable, luxury bedding, pillows and quilt,.. only one negative when stripping the bed in the morning one of the pillows was very old with stains which had a split in it, lots of feathers fell out.

Beautiful House
Nov. 2019
I have really enjoyed my fabulous time at Plas Teg. It is a beautiful Jacobean house, and I was amazed by the vast collections of antiques within the house, the surrounding gardens are equally picturesque.

Stunning Jacobean Mansion

A beautiful property, well worth a visit. The owner is undertaking the restoration so it isn't immaculate but it doesn't detract from an enjoyable visit

Stunning

Hard to put in to words. Joined an overly full tour of Plas Teg under the capable direction of Karen, a long term tour guide. Utterly fascinating from beginning to end (although a smaller group would have facilitated perhaps more interesting conversation and answers to specific questions). The collection amassed by the owner is jaw-dropping, has to be seen to be believed. Glimpsing the owner collecting twigs and cleaning the grate quite fascinating. Some in our party had been several times before and I can imagine going again because there is simply SO much to take in.

A Unique Experience
Oct. 2019
Having been to this area on several occasions to see my family and always thinking it would be an interesting place to see, my sister organised a family visit. What an interesting few hours we had, roaming around the many rooms, crammed with the owners' huge collection of antiques. Unfortunately she was unable to show us around but that didn't seem to matter. Wear warm clothing.

Plas Teg paranormal evening
Oct. 2019 • Friends
My reason for visiting Plas Teg was purely nostalgic as I had been with my wife on a Sunday afternoon over twenty years ago, I was told by a friend that it was a Halloween evening and as it was on the evening of the 25th Oct I assumed that it was a fun based evening, it was not until the day before that I was made aware that it was in fact a paranormal event and me being a fully paid up sceptic it did not fill me with glee, but I was pleasantly surprised, the evening kicked off with an informative tour off the house which set the scene and atmosphere for three professionally conducted séances which by the end had made my scepticism a little shaky to say the least.
The beautiful jacobean house is not to a national trust standard of upkeep but is quite clearly a lived in home that is being restored and saved for posterity by a wonderfully eccentric individual who is not prepared to see such a historic building ignored and allowed to disappear and I feel she should be applauded and honoured for the devotion she has shown. In conclusion, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening that made me reconsider my doubting Thomas attitude and was an event I would seriously consider partaking in again.
