I am Swiss who live in Brazil with my family and I traveled to Chile to celebrate my first year of marriage with my wife and some friends. I had the worst decision to visit this place, I was treated with discrimination by the staff at this winery. We were judging like people who wouldn't be able to pay the price of the place and we threatened that they would call security to take away space.

The visit to this place was part of a tour by a tour provider. When we came we had a very quick wine tasting of three different wines where only one was from the actual winery. I understand they collaborate but it would have been nice to try the wines from this actual vineyard. The lady was very good at English and she knew her stuff about the grapes.
After the tasting we went to the shop, hoping to bring home a bottle or two. We got hold of one of the shop keepers who spoke English, but almost seemed disturbed we reached out to him. I asked him for a bottle that needed to be stored for about five years, and then we could drink it. He goes to one of the most expensive bottle in the store and just says "this one" and he gave me the look like it was out of my price range. I asked him if the bottle was actually from this vineyard and winery and he said yes. Without internet I couldn't check for myself and had to trust him as we were excited to bring home a bottle from our only visit to a vineyard in Chile. That was a straigh out lie. The bottle came from another place in Santiago and it's sad that you don't have faith in your own product and prefer to trick us to make money. Don't go here.

Viñamar is in the Casablanca Valley in Chile. It is a beautiful vineyard with 2 kinds of grapes, chardonnay and pinot noir.
They make excellent sparkling wines.
We took the tour and a wine tasting of 3 sparkling wines, extra brut, brut unique and rosé. All were great. Then we went to their bistro which I will review later.

We were taken to Vina Mar winery by our driver, who highly recommended it as his favorite winery. We were offered 2 different wine tasting tours, and selected the more expensive tour. We tried to pay in advance but were told, "No, no, you can pay later" we asked if they took credit cards, and were assured, "Yes, yes, all credit cards, you can pay after!" The tour was good and informative, but when we tried to pay for our tour and 2 bottles of wine, they had trouble with our American Express card. When offered a Visa, that didn't work either ...four credit cards later, they began randomly swiping cards, which in this Information Age is alarming, to say the least!!! We finally said, "Stop this!" And managed to negotiate a US dollars deal with Chilean change. When all was said and done, they accepted our US cash, gave us Chilean change, and would not give us receipts that described the transaction. We then discovered that they billed our American Express for the tour only. We are now disputing the tour charges(we had to pay cash!) Our beautiful wine tour has turned into what may or may not be a scam by the winery, but was, at least a bungle...

We were going to Viña Del Mar from Santiago (Ruta 68) and stopped by this beautiful place. They serve lunch on the main house of the winery. They have 3 options of a 4 course menu (35k pesos) or you can order the dishes separated. The menu is followed by 4 types of wine from their own production (Vinamar, Tarapaca, and others). The kids had a great time running around the yards and playground. Worth the visit.

I visited this winery today as part of my Neruda's Trails & Chilean Wine by Turis Tour. The whole tour was fantastic but Vinamar was the cherry on top! The building is beautiful. From the floors, chandelier, staircase and fountains plus the view. Cute birds in the foyer to greet everyone. Our guide, Chris (English speaking guide), was amazing!! He was able to answer all the questions posed to him and is well on his way to becoming an accomplished sommelier. Started with a glass of bubbly and a stroll out into the vineyard to see the grapes and learn about what makes the Casablanca Valley different from other regions in Chile. Inside, Chris explained the vineyards process on harvesting & selecting through to the barrelling. We were also able to see the room where they keep the sparkling wine to finish its process of fermenting. We finished up with the tasting of 3 reserve wines which were very yummy. A very neat experience for sure.

Perhaps it was our guide, but the tour was very superficial. Here are the vineyards, here are the new oak barrels, here is the sparkling wine racks, now for some tasting. Let's move on to the next group. We had previously stopped at the Quintay Winery which had a beautiful plaza for sampling with cheese, crackers and other treats and a very descriptive sampling of the wines.

In Casablanca area you can find so many excellent wineries and vineyards and Vinamar is surely one of them. There is really luxurious restaurant, cigar club and extraordinary facilities. Go there if you look for gourmet experience, for wine stories I would rather recommend the Casas del Bosque. In Vinamar they offer three types of gourmet concepts including wines, starter, main dish and dessert. Excellent!
We had a really good waiter and advisor and he did not care about the quantity of wine consumed, which was fantastic.
Strongly recommend!

The restaurant is situated in an old vineyard building. You have an amazing view over the vineyards. The food they serve is very good, nice flavours and of course they serve their own, beautiful tasting wines. Sitting on the veranda, enjoying your food and wine, you can dream away

I wanted to take the time to write a review to compliment Vinamar (and specifically Hector, the restaurant manager) for outstanding service. We had lunch reservations at another nearby winery. When we arrived, we discovered they had no record of our reservation and would not seat us. We headed next door to Vinamar to try our luck. Despite the fact that it was a busy holiday weekend and they were fully booked, the restaurant manager made special arrangements to accommodate us. He was gracious throughout. The food was excellent, and the Extra Brut Unique sparkling wine he recommended was terrific. The views from the restaurant balcony are outstanding. All in all, a great place to stop for lunch en route between Santiago and Valparaiso, or as a day trip from either of those cities.
