俵山温泉の泉質のよさは昔から知られている。泉質分析で、西の横綱という説もあるくらいだ。下関駅前からサンデン・バスで１時間５０分くらいかかるが、その泉質を知ると来る価値はある。土日だとサンデン・バスの一日乗り放題切符で千円で往復できる。外湯が二カ所ある。ここと白猿の湯の二カ所だ。そちらには食事の場所もある。退職後、かなり来るようになった。

角島、元乃隅神社の観光ついで、美祢インターまでの間に立ち寄りました。泉質は最高ですが交通アクセスが悪いし、駐車場は狭いしで大変でした。ほのぼのとした雰囲気のある温泉でした。

歴史的な外湯ですが、今は綺麗に改装されて清潔感があります。ロビーの壁には古地図があり、昔の小さな外湯めぐりが想像出来ます。
ここでは、かけ流しの湯に入る事をオススメします。すべすべ、ヌルヌルした湯は絶品でした。湯上がりも長い時間湯冷めしないのが最高でした。

外湯文化の温泉地なので、こちらも当然外湯です。
駐車場の前あたりに旅館が並んでいましたが、そちらには温泉がなく、外湯に入りに来るそうです。
お湯はトロトロでとても良かったです。ちょっとレトロで風情があるのもまた良かったです。

温泉街の真ん中あたりにある公衆浴場で、旅館からも皆お風呂道具片手にカラコロ通う姿が旅愁を誘います。泉質がよく、湯あたりして救急車で運ばれる浴客が１年に2、3度あると言うくらいで、西の大関の名に恥じない名湯です。

各地いろいろ温泉を巡ってきたが、こちらのお湯の質の高さは、TOP3入りの良さ！！！これほどの良い質が、日本全国にあまり伝えられておらず、今回入ってみて驚いた。PH９．９のアルカリ性、高濃度水素水とあって、トロトロとした湯はとても気持ちがよく、よく温まり、効能が高いことを感じた。
また、そこに集う人達もあたたかな人たちであり、心地よさはここにもあった。

6月に長門市観光からの流れで俵山温泉に行きました。蛍を見に行った訳ではなかったですが、小さな小川や蛍を見下ろせる橋があるなど、田舎の温泉街ならではの情緒を感じさせる町でした。
宿にもお風呂があるのかもしれませんが、この町の湯に地元の人も旅行者も訪れます。

・入浴料420円
ぜひシャンプーなどお気に入りはご持参ください。22時ぴったりに閉店なので、早めに行くことをオススメします！

なんとか博士によると泉質は西日本の横綱だそうです。湯治場という表現があっているかも。山の中にあるのですが、一山越えると日本海ですので、海産物が美味しいのです。結構お手頃価格の宿がありますので、オススメです。

湯治場の温泉なので、 ほとんどの旅館が内湯をもっていません。 （確か１軒くらい内湯を持ってる旅館があったはず） 町の湯 白猿の湯も お客さんいっぱいですので 浴室の写真は撮れませんでした。
お湯はすごく良いです。１１００年前に発見された歴史ある温泉らしいです。つるつるのとろとろです。 リウマチによく効くらしいです。
町の湯４２０円 白猿の湯７３０円（露天風呂あり）
昔は 川の湯というのがあったそうですが、現在は廃止され、そのお湯を白猿の湯に引いているらしいです。

その昔は宿の外湯が3か所あって、その唯一残ったのが町の湯だが、新しく大規模な温泉施設ができて、外湯らしい湯はここだけとなりました。町の湯は改装して新しくて綺麗な感じは有るが、中が狭いのが難点で、何時も混んでいます。残念なのは昔の温泉街の雰囲気はなくなりました。
