Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This view point offers glorious view of the NATURAL BRIDGE. The 3.6 km narrow and long sand walk with 3000 plus pine trees looks like picture postcard. The place can be accessed via monorail or chair lift. The round trip to the view area is ¥850 pp.
We visited the place during our recent Japan visit. It was slightly cloudy day, so the view of the bay though clear but was not too bright. Great place to visit if you are in Kyoto or Osaka.

Amanohashidate View Land and Kasamatsu Park are two parks at the top of the mountains on two ends of the Amanohashidate sand bar. Both will give you a good top view of the sand bar/ land bridge, and both have a funicular cable car and chair lifts to go up. So what are the differences?

1) Amanohashidate View Land's better for day trippers because...
If you are here only for a day tour and only want to visit one peak, View Land is definitely better because it is close to the train station, which is only a short 5-minute walk away. Most hotels are also on this side of the Amanohashidate land bridge. If you have young children, Amanohashidate View Land also has a mini theme park of about 5 rides? The usual carousel, mini train, small playground, etc. But the ferris wheel will be worth it for adults too since you get the, "floating above everything!" experience, especially with the cool draft wind blowing at you. They also have a elevated walk-around bridge which you can climb on to enjoy a better view.

2) Kasamatsu Park is better if you want the boat ride, too
We were at Amanohashidate for two nights, and wanted to have an relaxing schedule to thoroughly enjoy the beach and the bay, so it made sense for us to visit Kasamatsu Park too since it's on the other side of the bay. There is a round trip boat ride and Kasamatsu Park package ticket, as shown in the map-cum-brochure I uploaded here. We opted to take a bus over instead, as we also wanted to visit Ine No Funaya, the floating boat houses of Ine, just slightly north of Kasamatsu Park. Although there's nothing much to do on Kasamatsu Park except a gift shop and a snack shop, they said it is more beautiful during cherry blossom as they have a whole stretch of cherry trees. We didn't witness that when we visited in May, but it's possible in March-April!

It was like being in heaven, definetly a sight to see. After climbing all the way up and seeing the incredible scenery, we went down stopped for a while at the beach, I must say I never swam in such a beautiful place before, I totally recommend it if you're going in the summer.

Worth the 2 hour trip from Kyoto. Wish we had planned a longer time as there's more than we expected to see there! You can actually take a boat or cycle down to the other side where there are even more sights!

Plenty of space to spread out and see the classic view of Amanohashidate, including a raised pedestrian walkway, and platforms for the silly under-the-legs photos. The locally made pudding and ice cream are delicious and very milky. There are several small scale rides for little kids, but adults probably don’t need to spend more than half an hour to an hour here to get the whole experience, The chair lift to get up here is really fun!

We stayed at Monjuso Ryokan the night before, the entrance is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. There are options of taking either a tram or chair lifts to go up and down the park. The view from this side is better than the Kasamatsu park side in my opinion.
There are also some rides on the top if you are travelling with children.

There was an option of taking the single chair or the tram up to the view point. Definitely recommend the chair as it is relatively safe and lots of fun. At the view point, there are some small activities for the adults and plenty of options for children. It is also a great view point for the land bridge on a good clear day.

The "View Land" at Amanohashidate is really beautiful. Once you get to the top of the chair lift, you'll be rewarded with a fantastic view of the surrounding area. However, I thought it was a bit overpriced. Once you get to the top there are many activities, but they're more geared towards small children. Make sure to check out the sky walk and the restaurant.

The view is gorgeous! That's the reason it is 'Japan top 3 views'.

You can rent a bicycle and ride along, or you can take the boat trip.

This is quieter than the opposite end of the sandbar. The cafe at the top offers free wifi which can be useful to share your photos immediately with home like we did 😜
