We stayed at a Ryokan for three nights and did some sight seeing and relaxing around Amanoshidate before heading back to Tokyo. Such a beautiful peaceful place. We made alot of trips up and down the sand bar experiencing all the restaurants in the area

Take the fenicular railway, if you get the chance. The views are spectacular from the top. It's one of the three most iconic views in Japan. Well worth a visit.

Amanohashidate draws you in with the sandy land bridge across Miyazu Bay. It was a bridge to heaven that the gods once ascended and many poems were written about. I enjoyed exploring its quiet beauty in day and at night. There is a special serenity...More

The view of Amanohashidate from the hill top is a gorgeous spectacle of nature and walking through it on the pathway, well-maintained and safe, is wonderful.

Don't know why the Japanese name it as one of the three best scenic views in Japan or why the Japanese think it is a bridge over the sky. It does not look special to me at all, particularly considering the travelling time to Amanohashidate....More

Some of them provide this service. There is a tourists' office at the train station. You can ask them for the address. of these shops. Enjoy!
