「べにばな」の里

山形名産のベニバナを江戸時代から栽培している地区です。季節になるとベニバナで一面黄色いじゅうたんの畑になります。アニメ「おもひでぽろぽろ」のベニバナ場面は、ここ高瀬地区のは畑です。

紅花は化け物

紅花は７月上旬頃、濃いオレンジ色の花を咲かせる、山形市高瀬地区の、とげがちくちく刺す見た目はそんなにかれんな花でもないけど、その花びらでカーゼハンカチなどを染めると、かれんなピンク色に化ける。
また、紅花そうめんや紅花茶、紅花ご飯なども、鮮やかな色で染でめてくれる不思議な花です。

映画の舞台にもなった場所

ジブリのアニメ映画「おもひでぽろぽろ」の舞台になったところで夏の盛り咲く黄色い花は山形らしい景色を感じられます。ただそれ以外の季節は低い山並みなどどこにでもある田舎の風景が広がっています。

山形らしい景色が期待できるかも

ベニバナは夏なので、今回はただ田舎の風景を楽しんだだけですが、その季節に行けば今や少なくなった昔からの山形らしい風景が楽しめる場所です。
町の中心部からは離れていて、バスの便も良くないので、レンタカーやタクシーが良いと思います。

薔薇じゃないけど棘がある

立石寺の帰りに７月だったのでせっかくだから…と「山形といったら紅花！」が
たくさん咲いている高瀬地区へ行ってきました。
でもカーナビなしの車ではとても不安になるようなところでしたが到着すると
そこは紅花が咲き乱れていました。
紅花に囲まれた写真が撮りたくて近寄ると棘の多さにびっくり！！でした。

夏場に山寺、蔵王など山形の村山地区に旅行に行くなら、是非、この地域を通って欲しい。黄色からオレンジ色の綺麗な花が咲いていることと思います。運が良ければ、花を摘んでいる農家の方に会えるかもしれません。仕事の邪魔にならない程度にお話を聞けたら、いいですね。

山形といえば紅花

山形では七月になると紅花が咲き乱れます。とても広大で美しいです。紅花はバラのようにとげがありますが小さくてかわいいです。

紅花というのは、染色材料のひとつだそうで、その花々が植えられているのがここです。開花シーズンでなければ、見た目はなんということない感じですが、これを使った染色体験もあるそうです。
