Zentsu-ji has a number of important and interesting buildings, including a very good museum. Pilgrims are often seen there. Pilgrims on the entry bridge provide a particularly good photo opportunity.

Number 75 on the 88-temple pilgrimage of Shikoku, Zentsuji is much more impressive than many because it is the reputed birthplace of the founder of Shingon, Kobo Daishi. There are multiple buildings scattered on the grounds which make it fun to explore. You may also...More

This complex of temples & pagodas mark the birthplace of Kobo Daishi, the founder of Shinbone Buddhism; it is surrounded by a town and the juxtaposition of the temples & modern buildings offers some interesting photo opportunities.

Great temple, wonderful treasury museum and the pagoda is great. We enjoyed the full experience, the treasury had a great exhibition, amazing display from different century's. Peaceful and tranquil.

Zentsu-ji is in a tiny town with no tourist information center that we could find. We got a map from the JR clerk but it was only in Japanese. Directions: go out the station door and keep walking straight till you see the pagoda. On...More

If you're looking to see temples off the beaten path. Can get quite crowded during the Spring and Autumn with visiting pilgrims, but still a great place to see and visit.
