I recommend going up the path near the parking lot (Kawaranobo- steeper, slightly more challenging, along the water, rocky) and down the other route (Odagoe-flatter, rockier, more open, ladder section, plants) to give you more variety. Although this means you walk back along the road for about 30 minutes, I think it is worth it. Hayachine tends to get cloudy... More

I climbed the mountain on June 27 and there were several different kinds of wildflowers in bloom and some snow at the top. The trail is mostly exposed and can get quite windy. I went up the Odagoe Trail (the most popular and easiest). Up and down is took about 5 hours with breaks, but I think you could definitely... More
