If you're visiting Miyajima, a trip up here by foot or by cable car is well worth it. The views are nice, and there are some interesting temple structures at the top. The summit is a stiff 15-20 minute walk from the top of the cable car. It is possible to walk up here, or down, or both. Note that... More

First you have to walk very far from the ferry to the bus station. Then, you have to climb may stairs to take the rope car. The car stopped in the middle, to change for another ride, you have to make another attempt. You will be exhausted when you get there and unable to climb to Mt. Misen summit.

Try to climb up to mount misen the view up there is stunning! i can see the whole hiroshima city on the mountain and it was very quiet up there and think about where should us visit later! try to get here when you are waiting for the tide going. No so difficult to climb up. Only take around 45... More

The 360 degree view from the top is one of the most stunning on earth. Ropeway was good, but it does not go all the way to the summit. The hike after that is strenuous, with a lot of steps. Even the ropeway by itself require climbing many stairs. If you are up to the exercise, it is a must... More

Great hike up the mountain and beautiful views along the way. There are small statutes along the way. The cable car makes part of the hike easy.

I was lucky to have sunny weather for my trip to Miyajima. The most expeditious way to get to the summit of Mt Misen is to take the cable tram, then hike 1 km, then one can hike all the way back down to the village. The people who were hiking all the way up looked VERY tired.

Ascending the mountain was the favourite part of my day. The cable car takes about 30 minutes to get up, depending on the queue and then you need to walk for another 45 minutes or so. The queue to get back down on the cable car was quite long so be prepared to wait. The views at the top are... More

Regardless of how you get to the top - still be prepared to climb some stairs. You can take a shuttle to the gondola (aka ropeway) or you can hike up the 3km to the top. We opted for the latter and took the well-marked and maintained trail. The hike was worth it, but be ready for a climb and... More

Wonderful experience with fantastic views. After taking the rope way (gondola) up to the station there is a about a 30-45 minute hike to the summit. It was not very challenging but on a hot day, I would imagine sweating profusely. Anyway, there were great views along the way but everything came together at the summit. Panoramic views of the... We took the ropeway to the mountain station. Opinions seem to be divided as to how tough the walk to the summit is, it took us (30 and 25 y/o, in good health) about 20 minutes to the summit. It contains quite a few steep slopes. Viewpoint Is fantastic, offering great views over the inland sea and surroundings. We did... More
