Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This beach is supposed to be a blue flag. Whoever assess blue flag needs to look again. Dogs on the beach running loose, deficating. Surfers who think they own the beach and seem very successfully to be able to ask bathers to move along as they are staring surf lessons. The beach wardens do not seem to care, leaving the surfers to do what they want. The beach wardens seem more concerned with the local "totty".

Cars being broken into. No sign of the local Police, maybe they too are frightened by the surfers.

Used to be a nice are now going quickly downhill.

This used to be my favourite beach in Portugal. HOWEVER despite the signs in 4 languages which prohibit dogs on the beach, in actual fact this beach is full of them, fouling on the sand, running up at you and your belongings. One of the criteria for being awarded the Blue Flag is that animals are not allowed on the beach but nobody seems to bother. A great shame that this beach is in such a mess.

Best time to visit is during low tide, when all the rock structure underneath is exposed. There is a restaurant with a patio and a beautiful view. climb the hill on the south side for magnificent photos.

Lots of sand, lots of waves, and wonderfully deserted in February. No big hotels, just lots of cute little shacks and brightly coloured houses. Plenty of places to walk and explore.

Beautiful beach, shame about the dogs. Dogs are allowed to run freely on this beach even though it is Blue Flag! I saw a dog deficate, the owner did not bother to pick it up. The people who run the beach were not interested, infact they were too busy with the groupies who seemed to be laying about inside their tent! Watch your children's eyes. Filthy.

Huge long beach, with most of the visitors bunched around the two small restaurants and facilities. Walk a little along the beach and you have a superb and uncrowded beach with good waves and fine sand.

Surf schools, restaurants, loos all available, and parking not too bad (car park if you’re early, then your up one of the hills away from the beach).

Restaurant by the car park is great - value and good quality.

I love this beach. So beautiful and romantic. I watched the sunset with my boyfriend on the top of the hills.

Surrounded by a picturesque (and untidy) fishing village, Monte Clérigo Beach is about 10 kms from the village of Aljezur. It is easy to get there by tarmac road. Access to the beach is made by ramps and stairs. The beach has good dimensions, being mainly sought after by families who find all the infrastructures here: WC, showers, car park, bars / restaurants, telephones, first aid station. This beach is watched by professional swimmers-rescuers during the bathing season; Ramp and access stairs in wood; Has easy access for the disabled.

Very nice sandy beach, wide and a well preserved group of small houses on the left side. Also with a good and friend restaurant almost on the beach where you can sit outside in the sun
