I hiked with my husband and two daughters (12 and 13). We went with a tour and were given 4 hours to do the hike. The tour classified this as an "intermediate level" hike. With that time limit and the challenging terrain the first half was fairly brutal. We stopped 10 minutes for lunch and briefly paused to take pictures... More

This is a 10 km loop trail, first half going up a rugged trail by beautiful rapids, and coming back on a dry, flat, easy-walk trail that traces the old logging/stone-mining rail track. The trail by the Fuefuki river is a bit rough, so hiking boots are recommended. You will not be bored as multiple cascades and waterfalls amuse your... More

Nishizawakeikoku was located in the place of 70 minutes by bus from Enzan station. It was a relatively simple hiking course. But it was necessary to choose suitable shoes because it sometimes had the ground which gets wet . Nishizawakeikoku features nature.I could enjoy transparent water in the summer and colored leaves in the autumn. I could also enjoy to see... More

I took a bus from Enzan station to ’’Nishizawakeikoku Iriguchi.’’ It was about 70 minutes ride, I arrived at a Nishizawa ravine. There were some hiking courses. I walked this hiking course, and I could see many beautiful falls. They were so clear, and I was so moved. My favorite fall was a ’’Fall with five steps.’’ It was so... More

The water is an unbelievable blue and the hike is challenging but possible for a wide range of ages and abilities. There are many waterfalls and carved granite pools. Wear practical shoes (sneakers at the very least), and a snack and water are recommended. Don't forget a camera!
