加茂市が管理している公園の一画にあるリス園なので、嬉しいことに入場無料です。
園内はあまり広くはありませんが、たくさんのシマリスが放し飼いにされていて、ちょこまか動き回って楽しいです。
飼育員さんから餌をもらって、リスにあげることもできます。
注意すべきは、冬の間はリスが冬眠するので休園していること(^_^;)

何十匹ものリスが大きなケージの中で元気に走り回っており、そのケージの中に人間も入れます。
ウチの子は夢中になり、なかなか帰ろうとせず、困ったほどです。

アメリカなどに行けば、よく見るがここまで人には慣れていない。シマリスなのでサイズも小さくて、手からひまわりの種を食べたりカバンに潜り込んだり肩に乗ったりする姿は、本当に愛らしい。すばしこいので、こちらもまさか踏んだりしないように気をつけることが大切です。無料なのも大変素晴らしい。入り口に募金箱があるので、餌代を入れてあげるといいと思います。

加茂山公園は大人が一人で行っても楽しめます。
神社がありますが階段の脇にはいつ行っても綺麗な花が咲いていて山の中の静けさと木々の香りに癒されます。神社のお参りのあとはリス園へ。無料で、しかもかわいいリスが癒してくれます。

加茂山の駐車場から、あまり目立たない看板を目印に山を登ると、「ネットで仕切られたリス園」を発見。
入園無料で、エサまでもらえます。
エサを構えて、動き回るリスを待っていると、食べては逃げを繰り返すリスをあちこちに見ることができます。
結構めまぐるしく動き回っています。
嫁や子供は、「かわいい」と言って、喜んでいました。
１日中いてもいいそうです。
リス好きな方にお勧めします。

加茂山公園の奥の方にあり、駐車場からは10分くらい歩く必要があります。
無料のリス園で、以前は放し飼いになっていたようですが、現在はコロナの影響でケージ内のリスを観察するのみです。なので、エサやりもできません。
仕方ないことですが、リスと触れ合えないのは残念ですね。

文化の日に訪問
夕方に訪れた時は、餌をほとんど食べてくれなかったので、開場時間に訪問。１０分前には入り口に列ができてました。
係の説明を聞いて、餌やり開始です。
リスの通り道に餌を出すと食べてくれま。 手から食べてくれたり、肩に乗ってくれたりとても楽しい。
30分くらい居ましたが、リスの食欲が落ちてきたので帰りました。
公園を散策して駐車場に戻ると、２０台以上の待ちになっていました。
早い時間に訪問して良かったです。

お盆休みに何回か行きました。開園近くのほうが
まだお腹が空いてるので、手からエサを食べてくれる確率が高いです。
近くの餅やさんも、おすすめです。すぐに売り切れてしまって、なかなか食べられません。もしも開いていたら、ぜひ食べてみてください。
他で食べたことがないほど美味しかったです。加茂に帰省したときはよく寄るお店とリス園です。
