Kozenji is a beautiful temple, summer, winter, spring or fall. The mighty pine trees make you feel tiny as you make your way to the temple. Come sakura (cherry blossom) or koyo (autumn foliage) season everyone says, "Go to Kyoto! It's beatiful." And it is, but everyone in Japan and coming to Japan has the same idea making Kyoto very crowded. Kozenji is far off the beaten path so it's never crowded but just as beatiful as any Kyoto temple.
