Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went early to Odawara and before the Ninja event visited the castle's nearby shrine dedicated to this famous person "Ninomiya Sontoku". For those who are not familiar his statue are placed in many Japanese schools depicted as carrying firewood on his back and reading a book showing he was always in act of studying. They sell small wooden plaque to write one's wish. The garden was peaceful at this early time and too few visitors yet. There is also opportunity to join 20min or 2hr Shinto-Shrine tours daily, ask the Shrine desk.

Located next to the Odawara castle, it is a small but very pretty shrine with a small pond and koi fish.

A small, tranquil almost tourist-free shrine. Gorgeous grounds, lush and green. The stand at the entrance sells bags of fish food to feed the carp in the pond.

We saw a shinto wedding when we were there - beautiful!

This shrine is located in Odawara City Site Park, next to the amusement park. We visited it as the final stop on our tour of Odawara Castle before heading home.
