We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It seems to run every 30 minutes.
The boarding point is in front of the former house of Ino Tadataka, at Hibashi (Jajabashi).
The ticket booth is in almost the same place. The fare is 1,300 yen, but the person in front of me seemed to have given me some kind of discount coupon and said it was 1,100 yen. I don't know what the discount coupon was.
First, you have to go down about six stone steps to get on the boat, which are steeper than you'd think.
On the boat, you take off your shoes and sit across from a long table in the middle.
The boat is operated by an outboard motor rather than a pole, but it was quiet, probably because it doesn't go very fast.
The boatman gave us directions and explanations of the sights at each location.
I think the concept is to enjoy the townscape while listening to a talk on the boat.
Perhaps because I visited at a time of year, it would have been nice if there had been more colorful flowers such as rape blossoms on both sides.
I had originally planned to ride on March 2nd, but the Sawara Hina Bune Spring Festival was being held on that day, and I found out that the general public was not allowed to ride the boats, so I quickly decided to ride on March 1st, but I was able to ride without it being too crowded.

I came across this recommendation from Japan tourism board because I wanted to find some nice places to visit near Narita while pending on my return flight. Sawara is a very nice place with a little canal that housed the traditional japanese houses during Edo period (1603-1867). It is a transport hub for the rice to the capital in the olden days. From JR Narita station to Sawara station (JPY480) is a 35 minute ride (You can grab a brochure at the tourist info center at JR Narita Station only available in Japanese but with simple picture as a guide). From the exit of the Sawara station, walk straight, turn to the left when you see the Chiba Bank, walk to the end until a T-junction (you will see the post office on the way), turn to left walk all the way you will reach the canal. Approx. 15 min walk from the Sawara station. Just grab a Sawara bento lunch box on your way back to the station after a nice serene walk.

It cost ¥1,300 yen per person for a ride. The view was ok at the beginning but at the end of the river, some modern buildings can be seen at both side.
Also there were a lot of trash on the river and no flowers on the both side of the river. I think they should do more to beautify the river so that tourists can enjoy the boat ride more.
