Everyone we spoke to in town was keen for us to go to this place. Clearly a lot of money and civic pride has been invested in it. The complex has a hot spring resort, a restaurant, a display of plaster food and a handicraft centre. It is as though the leaders of Obama called aroud all the other municipalities... More

This could have been a lot more interesting if we could have understood more. There wasn't any translation for English. The children made their own chopsticks which was fun. There was also washi paper making and other craft options available.

1F exhibits show the history of food in Japan, but little or no English explanations. Craft center on 2F good for elementary and junior high school kids.
