佐倉市にある曹洞宗寺院の嶺南寺は、松本藩から佐倉へ移封となった堀田加賀守にしたがい、寛永19年（1642年）当地へ移転、陽南良雪大和尚を開山として、堀田加賀守が創建したといいます。本堂内には閻魔大王を安置し、佐倉七福神の弁財天を祀る札所としても知られる。

「甚大寺」と同じ通り沿いにあります。佐倉七福神のひとつ「弁財天」が祀られているお寺ですが、本堂内に安置されているので簡単に見ることは出来ません。それ以外はさほど特徴的なものが感じられない、田舎のお寺という印象でした。

１月５日まだお正月ですが街中は人がそれほど多くなくゆっくりと歩けます。佐倉市営駐車場は無料です。お天気にもよると思いますが丁度良い散歩になると思います。御朱印も押してもらえます。

六崎組十善講８１番（番号はバラバラなので近隣の札所を固めて訪問中）。JR佐倉駅南口自転車駐車場で自転車を借りて訪問。境内に数台分の駐車スペースあり。車でも訪問可能。大師堂は見当たらなかった。後で調べると、「お地蔵様の後ろにあったのですが、大部以前に台風で倒壊してそのまま、だそうです。」という記述あり。残念だが仕方なし。

佐倉藩主だった堀田家の菩提寺の甚大寺と同じ路沿いにある曹洞宗のお寺です。境内は開放的です。正面に本堂が静かに建っています。本堂の扉は閉まっており御本尊の釈迦牟尼佛を直接拝むことはできませんでした。佐倉七福神の弁財天も本堂内に安置されています。元旦から10日まで開扉され拝むことができます。御朱印もその期間であれば頂けます。

佐倉七福神の寺で、こちらは弁財天の寺。向かいが寿老人の寺なので、続けて回りました。ただ、七福神はたいていは石像だったりするのですが、こちらは石版に描いたもの。透明感のある仏画で面白いと思いました。

曹洞宗の寺院です。境内に入る寺号標は、表札となっており、中の正面に本堂を配するようになっていました。観光客の多い寺院では無さそうでしたが、境内には、佐倉七福神の弁財天が祀られていました。

佐倉小学校に入る小道には、お寺が密集していますが、城下町の名残りでしょうか。境内には石像がいくつもあり、落ち着いた雰囲気のお寺でした。
