Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The place is a ruin. The beautiful arch that until last year orned the facade broken down during the last winter, but the authorities haven't done anything in order to rebuild it. It seems to be the normal behavior in this city.

Basically the ruins of the redundant tonnara, though there remain the odd interesting architectural detail. This little corner, Marina di Avola, with couple of bars, restaurants, and fishmonger is the most pleasant part of that stretch of coastline.

While the old Tonnara is basically in ruins and can't be visited, the immediate area has recently seen an increase in nightlife, since the opening of new pubs and bars with live music... There's also a pretty good fish restaurant and a pizzeria.
Might be a good idea to close it to car traffic, though the only existing road connects some households to the city so it's not a viable option at the moment...

The sea is a spectacle, I came this summer with my husband, in September, a nice little beach with a very beautiful sea, and the food is also good, but the place is weakened due to the lack of attractions and clubs, the holiday in September is ideal for those who don't loves worldliness. Now the sore point...
I wanted to go back enthusiastically for this year in a group, it's a pity that just yesterday I received 3 fines (two for the same evening an hour apart) for having gone beyond the restricted traffic zone at unauthorized times (after 8pm, and in late September there are no 'it's really a soul they could remodulate the periods in my opinion) for heaven's sake I made a mistake, and I also already paid, but the signs on the side of the road are not at all clearly visible, in fact not at all especially in the evening, and for those who don't know the area well road you easily make a mistake more than once in an evening. First and last time, this year I will change my holiday destination. Never again for goodness sake.

You now pay 5 euros for a glass of wine, 6-7 for a cocktail, lots of bucks for restaurants but the Sea is far better in Lido di Noto and nightlife and prices are much better in Marzamemi

I am really impressed, disappointed by the state of the Tonnara of Avola, a place with infinite potential, events (wedding, birthdays etc.), tourist trips, place for summer events and much more, instead it is located, closed, abandoned waiting for the sea to destroy it, with a destroyed reception gate therefore also subject to vandalism, I hope that the region can really restore this place and become a prominent place for tourists.

Monument of considerable interest, embellished by its being between two coastal beaches rich in greenery, it is in a state of abandonment and is "rich" in abandoned rubbish ... I spent 1/2 of it there and took interesting photos, saddened to think that it could be an open-air museum, with dioramas or illustrations relating to its former glory! Worth a visit, sneakers recommended as there is no shortage of glass and sharp debris! The rating is the average between the 5 stars of the structure as it could be and the 0 stars of how it is due to the poor management due to the deterioration!

The place would also be very nice, both for the sea, very beautiful and clean, and for the historical attractions it offers, but it is undervalued and not very suitable for children and/or people in general, because for example the former tuna factory it is not cordoned off and controlled, so you can easily enter without problems, with obvious risks. I then ate one of the worst granitas and brioches of my life, nothing like those prepared and eaten in Catania. I hope things improve, because it is Such a pity...

It could be a magnificent place but it is abandoned to itself. Furthermore, there is a lot of dirt and it is unsafe due to the presence of dangerous points. Another matter is the part concerning the premises.
